Christine Evelyn Volker

Christine Evelyn Volker has lived on both US coasts and traveled in between. She was born in the melting pot of New York City and grew up on Long Island. Residing in Albany, New York, for her undergraduate degree from University at Albany - SUNY, in Spanish Language and Literature, she also secured an MLS before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area. She retooled herself with an MBA in Finance from UC Berkeley and worked in corporate and international lending. Her career brought her to live in Milan and London.

An intrepid traveler, she is writing full time, thanks to the support of her husband, Stephan, a public interest environmental lawyer. Her family includes two accomplished stepsons and their wives.

Her visits to Venice in the 1990s inspired her to write Venetian Blood: Murder in a Sensuous City. This compelling and complex international mystery won the 2017 Sarton Women's Book Award in Contemporary Fiction. Additionally, it's been named a finalist in the USA Best Book Awards, 2018 Next Generation Indie Book Awards, National Indie Excellence, International Book Awards, Independent Author Network Book of the Year Awards, and semi-finalist for the M&M Book Awards. The digital audiobook, narrated by award-winning Gabrielle de Cuir, earned a glowing review from AudioFile Magazine and is sold on Amazon, Audible and iTunes. Jaguar Moon, her second international mystery, set in the Peruvian Amazon, is not yet published, but an excerpt was shortlisted for the 2018 San Francisco Writers Conference Contest in adult fiction.
