Before she began writing full-time, Cheryl Schuermann devoted her professional career to literacy education as a classroom teacher, consultant, and curriculum trainer in schools across the United States. Her published books include the award-winning parenting book Raising Kids for Tomorrow’s World:12 Keys to Preserving the Faith (co-authored with Stan Schuermann--Pen It Publications 2022). A work of creative nonfiction, When the Water Runs: Growing Up With Alaska (Pen It Publications 2019) details her mother’s childhood growing up in northern Alaska. Cheryl’s debut devotional, Farmhouse Devotions: God’s Glory in the Ordinary, released in May 2024 from Bold Vision Books. Cheryl is a president in Word Weavers International and a member of Advanced Writers and Speakers Association (AWSA), Christian Authors Network/CIPA, and Serious Writer. In addition to writing, she facilitates a caregiver support group in her community. For twenty-five years, she and her husband have mentored and taught parents in their local church. Cheryl spends as much time as possible with her family: four sons, four daughters-in-love, and thirteen grandchildren. They are her inspiration and source of her many stories. The Farm is her favorite place to write, be with family, and host ministry groups.
