I was born in southern Illinois but moved to the Dominican Republic in 1960 just before the turbulent decade of assassination, chaos and revolutions. I became fluent in Spanish before moving to Jamaica. Then came back to the States to attend Florida Southern College and later Colorado State University. My education in speech and theatre took me into the radio business as a long time DJ and music salesman. Later I began importing self designed pottery from Indonesia. In my novels you will find adventures I have fictionalized to fall in line with my crime and mayhem and mystery plots. Although Colorado as been my home for over forty years, in my heart my foreign life and travel are alive and well and I frequently revisit my past life for beach time and memories My Steve Hartshorn novels are the the result of my adventurous life.
