I’ve pretty much seen it all and done it all. I’ve traveled in forty-seven countries. I’ve seen hippo tracks on a deserted jungle beach, hunkered through hurricanes in the Caribbean, startled a moose in a Russian forest, and drunk from crystal jungle springs. I’ve been arrested in three countries, fled from armed robbers in west Africa, and fought a pickpocket in a taxi. I’ve slept in more villages than I can count, driven over a 15-foot boa, and awakened alone to a moonrise on a 17,000-foot pass in the Himalayas. I’ve befriended Moslems, Sikhs, Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, and tribals. I’ve seen Swan Lake at the Bolshoi in Moscow and Giselle at the National Theater in Prague. I’ve dined in five-stars and eaten grubworms in the bush. I’ve cycled in ten countries, motorcycled in five, roller-skated in four, and trekked on every continent but the Antarctic. I’ve had a rich life, and I’ve learned a lot of stuff. A lot remains. I’m running out of time, but I’m doing the best I can with what’s left. You can find me out there mostly.
