P.J. Spivack was born in New York. He was employed as senior field engineer for IT&T in Greenland on the then secret Project Dew Drop. After that, the author worked for the U.S. Department of Defense as Chief Engineer of twelve American Forces Network radio broadcast stations in Europe. in 1966 the author made a career change and became an airline pilot. For the next twenty-five years the author flew worldwide as captain of four-engine heavy jets and wide body jumbo jets in both scheduled and charter airline service. Captain Spivack has been a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, MENSA, and has been an FAA designated check airman on the wide body Douglas DC-10. Holding a USCG Ships Masters License, he's been sailing and diving in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands for more than thirty years.
