As a husband and father of four and an avid 'prepper' throughout his life, Buck has come to know the importance of community and cooperation. His family has been a part of their local Prepper’s Group for over twenty years now. His wife thought he had lost it when he suggested they join, but when Hurricane Katrina hit, she was happy to have her bug-out bag on her back and all six of us in the van headed to her sister’s house before they were called to evacuate. Buck's children have all grown up knowing the importance of self-sufficiency, but also the importance of helping others. They have been at his side on multiple occasions, laying sandbags or clearing rubble, spreading awareness and even getting their friends to join. One of his proudest moments was when his son’s friend, Andrew, came running up to him just to show me the fire-escape plan he’d drawn up for his family... In all his 62 years, Buck has seen countless examples of how people rise up to help their fellow man, but no one can do that unless they first know how to help themselves. That’s why it’s essential that you soak in all the information included in his books. By removing your own anxieties through active organization, you can be better able to support others in an emergency, or whatever dangerous situation you find yourself in.
