Although Brigid left a nugget of her heart behind in the California Gold Country, most of it is in Lincoln, Nebraska where she currently lives with her husband. A former soil scientist, she holds degrees from Wellesley College, Kansas State University, and the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. Previous to settling in Nebraska twenty years ago, Brigid suffered from severe wanderlust, having lived in eight states (some several times!), as well as two years in Mexico. Full disclosure, although she is a naturalized Midwesterner, she is also a fiercely proud native of New Jersey. Her historical fiction has appeared in The MacGuffin, The Storyteller, Wilderness House Literary Review, Words of Wisdom, and Voices from the Plains: NWG Anthology. She is the author of two historical novels set during the California Gold Rush and later hard rock mining period: A Fence Around Her and West from the Cradle (a Peacemaker Award finalist), both published by Clean Reads Publishing. A produced playwright, she co-founded the Angels Playwriting Collective and serves on the board of Angels Theatre Company. She is also a board member of Women Writing the West and an active member of the Nebraska Writers Guild. Brigid loves to ski, hike, play golf, sing in her church choir, and of course, write!
