(Please click the book images for more information and reviews.) North Carolina author Billy Wray has been a policeman in both the U.S. Air Force and in civilian life. He is also a Christian and a recovering alcoholic. The last 33 years of his active working life was spent in business, and it was at this time that he studied writing in continuing education programs at Duke University under writing teachers Georgann Eubanks, Sharlene Baker, and Ruth Messenger. "I know alcoholism," Wray said. "I know recovery. I was a backsliding, alcoholic Christian who had already lost his family. I wasn't homeless yet, but I was headed that way.
My stories are on what I know best, which is addictions, and recovery, and redemption." Wray was born in Cedar Creek Township, Cumberland County, North Carolina, in 1933.
