Barbara Isenberg

BARBARA ISENBERG is an award winning journalist who has been writing and lecturing about the arts for over three decades. She is the author of the Los Angeles Times best-seller Conversations with Frank Gehry, Making It Big: The Diary of a Broadway Musical, and State of the Arts: California Artists Talk About Their Work. Her work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, the Wall Street Journal, Time, Esquire, The Huffington Post, and London's Sunday Times. She received a Distinguished Artist Award from the Los Angeles Music Center and has been a Visiting Scholar at the Getty Research Institute. She lives in Los Angeles.

Her newest book, Tradition!: The Highly Improbable, Ultimately Triumphant Broadway-to-Hollywood Story of Fiddler on the Roof, The World's Most Beloved Musical, was published by St. Martin's Press in September, 2014, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic musical's Broadway debut. It is already a Los Angeles Times best-seller.
