Angela Merlo writes dark, character-driven fiction about complicated people facing extraordinary circumstances.

Her novel Devil’s Lake first found an audience online, reaching the top three of Wattpad’s Paranormal Hot List before becoming a finalist in the 2019 Indies Today Book Awards. Her short story “Mother” was also selected as a top-35 finalist in TNT’s horror writing competition.

A former journalist and longtime independent writer, Angela is drawn to psychologically complex characters, difficult relationships, and stories that blur the boundaries between literary fiction, suspense, horror, and the supernatural.

She lives in Wisconsin with her family.
