She formerly served as Editor-in-Chief and VP of Howard Books/Simon & Schuster and as an acquiring editor for HarperCollins where she helped launch a successful fiction imprint. Editing credits include numerous New York Times bestsellers and award winners. McConnell founded and directs WriterFest Nashville, a two-day event for those who craft books, songs, films, and poems. She lives with her family in Franklin, Tennessee.
