Amanda Howard is a traditionally published true crime author and fiction writer as well as a violent crimes consultant who has written 25 books over the past 14 years including fifteen books on a wide range of true crime cases. As part of her research she has interviewed some of the world's most heinous serial killers and has collected a vast pool of information on various types of killers, their motives and rituals. For her work with violent murderers she has been dubbed the "Serial Killer Whisperer" by the media. Away from writing, Amanda has a regular crime segment on the Australian TV program Studio 10 and has appeared on all Australian TV channels. She features in many critically acclaimed international documentaries regarding famous serial killers, including Jack the Ripper, The Granny Killer and The Backpacker Killer as well as acted as a criminal consultant on many more. In 2018 she took on the role of Associate Producer on a US film about serial killer Jesse Pommeroy. Amanda Howard also conducts many sold out public speaking events about her writing and her experience with violent killers. She has authored numerous journal articles on serial killers as well as been a guest on crime shows on international radio, television, online and in print. She is a regular contributor to online newspapers including the Mosman Collective. Following on from her successful career as a non-fiction author, she has coupled her knowledge of serial killers with her love of history to develop a series of novels following the life of a police detective who is an international expert on ritual crimes and ancient societies. She has published an anthology of short stories, was an inclusion in a “How to” book on writing, and recently ventured into non-fictional comedy with a book on silly moments from history. To further her career Amanda completed her Master of Arts (Writing) in 2017 and is currently studying for a Master of Criminology and Criminal Justice. In 2018 she commenced hosting an extremely popular true crime podcast, Monsters Who Murder: Serial Killer Confessions, where she gives insight on numerous violent cases. The podcast has featured in the Apple iTunes Top 10 for true crime and society and culture several times in the few months it has been running. She also runs the successful YouTube channels: Truly Disturbing, Mystery and History, Botched Executions and Forgotten Brutal Crimes. Amanda is also a spokesperson on Male Suicide Prevention following the 2017 death of her husband. She was announced as a new inclusion in the 2017 Who's Who of Australian Women. Away from her writing work, Amanda is a mother to two wonderful teenagers (and 3 fur kids) and also has a full-time job.
