Alistair Shearer is a cultural historian specializing in India, who has taught at various prestigious institutions, including the British Museum, the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at London University and the auction houses Sotheby's and Christie's. An authority on sacred art and ritual, he designs and accompanies evolutionary journeys to the subcontinent for his company Trishula Travel. (www.alistairshearer.co.uk).
