Alison began her career as a professional journalist early, scoring a contributing writer byline for the Los Angeles Times while still in high school. Her writing has also appeared in Rolling Stone and People, among other publications. Years ago, she played guitar in a punk band, which she likes to mention because it makes her sound cool.
