Albert Butler, CPA, MBA, is an author, husband, father of four, strategist, and longtime CPA whose work centers on a question he has spent much of his life trying to answer: **What are we building that can actually outlive us?**

Raised in Baton Rouge by parents who deliberately instilled a core set of values in their children, Albert grew up understanding that family legacy is not something automatically passed from one generation to the next. It has to be taught, modeled, protected, and eventually entrusted to people prepared to carry it.

That conviction became personal as Albert built a marriage, raised four children, coached young people, served organizations and communities, and spent nearly three decades advising businesses and leaders through financial decisions, governance issues, risk, growth, and change. Along the way, he saw the same problem appear in different forms: people can spend decades building something valuable without preparing the people, structure, or systems needed to carry it forward.

His first book, *LIFE: Truth, Love, Loss, Success, & Failure*, began with his own children. It captures the stories, principles, mistakes, faith, discipline, loss, success, and hard-earned lessons he wanted them to have whether he was in the room to explain them or not. As *LIFE* reaches its first anniversary, the book remains the human foundation of a larger body of work about what one generation owes the next.

That work continues in his forthcoming book, *Legacy Alignment System: A System for Scaling a Life, Family, and Enterprise That Can Outlast You*, scheduled for publication in January 2027. The book examines what happens after success begins to accumulate, when a person must align the life they are living, the family they are preparing, the enterprise they are building, the ownership they carry, and the legacy they eventually intend to transfer.

Albert’s registered trademark, **“Accounting is the Heartbeat of Business,”** reflects the discipline behind much of his professional work. His writing reaches beyond accounting into stewardship, leadership, ownership, family alignment, faith, governance, responsibility, and the consequences of failing to prepare.

He writes from a simple conviction: what we leave behind matters, but who and what we prepare to carry it matters just as much.
