This Book is a roller coaster into tje life of Americas Chocolateier. It gave so much detail, and facts that I never knew. I used this book and a few websites, and I wrote a 9 page essay into the life Of Milton S. Hershey
Hershey’s life is very inspiring. Overcoming adversity, succeeding after several failures, and donating most of his money to help others—even while he was still alive. Also, very well written (as per usual with this author). Finally, how can you go wrong with a story that’s all about chocolate!
This book has been great for a homeschool unit study. We have also purchased the Curriculum guide and combined some projects that we found online and made it a real fun "treat" to read and eat and experiment with. Milton Hershey was a man of determination unlike what you may have expected and was diligent to keep going at the business that he loved. I have enjoyed reading this book with my children as a read-aloud to learn more about the man and his business.
I read this book, along with my son for a school assignment. I had no idea what an amazing man Milton Hershey was, so wonderful to learn about a man that did so much, and influenced so many!
I have read many biographies and I have to say I really enjoy the way the Benge's write. Milton Hershey is one of my all time favorites. Milton was such a caring, compassionate, and generous man. I love the drive these young pioneers had, they just never gave up on "The Dream". I would highly recommend this book.
Fantastic book. I LOVE the books in this whole series and have many of them. I loved reading about how Hershey chocolate came about. I was very impressed with Milton because he came against many obstacles and always found a way around them. He never gave up trying even when people told him he wouldn't succeed. I lent the book out and included with it two Hershey chocolate bars. Just reading the book makes your mouth water for chocolate. So easy to understand.
