How customer reviews and ratings work

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

This series just keeps getting better and better! Also more frightening. Being suddenly thrown into not knowing who to trust adds to the suspense. My hat is off to the author!

I almost didn't read this book because I'm uncomfortable with Mountford's repeated use of sexual assault in the last 2 books I've read of his. However, as a psych major I saw the title asylum and knew I wanted to read at least one more. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the asylum in which it was referring to was the one and only Trans Alleghany Asylum from my home state (which was a surprise since the author was from the UK). My mom toured this asylum when it was still an active hospital when she was in the 6th grade for school. To the day she died in 2017 she continued to have nightmares about the things she had seen and heard during her visit. Which made reading this story much more vivid and eerie for me. I was a bit disappointed to see that sexual assault was again used in this story. However, knowing how asylums were back then, I believe this to be a very real occurrence between orderlies and patients so it didn't bother me as much. It just made the fictional story feel all the more real. I wish I had noticed beforehand this was part of a different series from The Demonic and The Mark as I didnt read the ones prior to the Asylum but after reading it, I want to go back and start from the beginning and continue after Asylum so I can also find out what happens afterward. I already recommended this book to one of my sister's since she not only is a horror movie fan but because of the fact its about the asylum our mom had nightmares about. I look forward to exploring this series a bit more myself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great story, terrible ending

Well I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout most of it. However, the ending sucked. I hope there will be a part two to this book; otherwise, it will be extremely disappointing that it was left so unfinished

The other books in the series could stand alone. This one didn’t.
Have to read the next one to see what happens.

Sarah and Father Janovich have their new assignment. To check out a famous asylum in Virginia. They are supposed to find out if it's another Gate to Hell. What they learn there is beyond anything they could have ever imagined. Is this the end of their investigation or the end of humanity itself?

This ending was horrific in the most epic way!!
LovecraftIan hopelessness slowly fermenting to the end. Enjoyed every minute of it!! Best way to enjoy this is when read in order.
Anything this guy writes I recommend!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A harrowing, nightmare-fuled rollercoaster ride.

It's becoming increasingly difficult to review Lee's work, but this is definitely a good thing; after all, there are only so many synomyms for 'outstanding'.

And Alsylum is no exception, as the terrifying Haunted Series continues.

While the previous instalment, Mother Death, saw paranormal reseacher David Ritter investigate what appeares to be (anything but) a routine haunting, Asylum runs parallel following two members of the team - Sarah and Luca - on a helish mission of their own...

The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum—a place with a history of pain and suffering.

Lee uses this unsettling location to create an intricate painting of atmosphere, despair and outright terror with a heart-wrenching finale leaving screaming at the page demanding the next inslament.

Buckle up constant reader: I can assure you, you are in for a harrowing, nightmare-fuled rollercoaster ride.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good horror, but not my favourite of the series.

This is the 6th book in this series and I'm not sure if it was just me not being in the right mood, or if I'm losing interest after so many, but I didn't feel invested in it until about halfway through. It's still a good horror, but I preferred the earlier books. Once again there's a dramatic cliffhanger to ensure you read the next one.

I hope the next one is the last in this series.
