I read the series of this book and couldn’t put it down amazing story line awesome characters couldn’t put this book down ❤️
The story of Perron Manor continues in this second book. Really well written and such great descriptions of the characters! Loved the developement of each one! On to the next in the saga!
This book had me on the edge of my seat. You never knew what was going to happen next. Things got so intense I couldn't put it down towards the end. I had to finish it. Now where so you take us next.
Well developed characters, intriguing storyline. I enjoyed the overall story. There were a few points that were left hazy and made me want a bit more information. But generally well thought out. I’ll be buying more in the series to learn the details but would have anyway if the prequel was better defined in this book. I would recommend for light reading.
This book works with the previous two. I didn't love it, and I didn't really dislike it. Unfortunately, this installment didn't have the same draw that book two did. Book two is by far the best so far in this series. It's so much more consise, cohesive, and self-contained than books one and three. I didn't like that book one had a huge chunk of the very important plot point, kept from you the entire book. It wasn't even revealed at the end! You had to read book two to find out an incredibly important part of the story. I was grateful that at least this book finally gave you some of David's story halfway through, instead of making you wait until the next book. Still to me, this book felt disjointed. Even more so than book one. I think part of the issue for me; the reason I didn't love it as much as book 2, is because there wasn't really a main character. You didn't know who to invest in and root for, or even who to care about. You wanted to experience the story with Sarah, because you were there with her at the end of book one, ready to follow her back to the manor to save Chloe. However, Sarah, although the focus (mostly), kind of bails on you as your main character. She takes off after being very out of character the first 1/3 of the book, and leaves you scratching your head. You're like, "Hey girl, I thought we were in this together? Didn't we come back here to help Chloe? But you just ran off, leaving us to fend for ourselves like the other guests that you invited here, too." So is it the best book, maybe not? Does it work with the series? Yes. I still recommend reading book 2 first, then one and then book three.
This was an excellent book. I could not put it down. Around every turn of the page, something was always going on. This book ties in nicely with the first two.
This book did a good job wrapping up the Person House story. The action was great the entire book, I'm sure partly because we didn't need was much backstory this time. Undecided it I will continue the series, but maybe just a small break.
Not a book to read at night if you don't want nightmares best horror I have read in quite awhile really enjoyed all three books will read more by this author he is brilliant I've read quite a few books by different authors and he ranks the top of my list
This is the third book in the Haunted Series. First being Perron Manor, 2nd Devils Door. I am completely enthralled by all thus far and haven't read a horror book as good as these since the classics of Stephen King. Purgatory is as spine tingling if not more so than the other two and had me on the edge of my seat throughout, I found myself rush reading the text in a state of utter suspense. The book is a thrill and scary spill rollercoaster ride. I thoroughly recommend the Haunted Series to any fans of this genre. Onto the next one for me.....
Im absolutely loving these books. Once you start it's hard to put down. I finished this one in just under 3 hours, I was hooked from the start. I highly recommend buying the series!
