We’re into supernatural books, movies and tv shows. When I saw this pop up in my recommended reading, we had just finished watching the Conjuring….I’ve never heard of this author before reading this, but I’m glad I took a chance on it. Will be reading the others…and I highly recommend if you want to be creeped out…..even during the day! You don’t want to put it down, but you do because it’s soooo creepy! Who doesn’t love a good scare?!
Overall the book was good. It started out really slow and I almost gave up on it, but I’m glad I stuck it out. My main frustration was some of the characters’ refusal to believe in the truth of the paranormal activity happening around them. So annoying! I did end up enjoying the book and will definitely read the next one.
I liked the family for one. I had a feeling that coming to believe was going to be difficult. I am ready for the next book. I hope Sara can succeed in getting Cloye free. But it's going to be dangerous.
it has all the plot elements to make a good haunted mansion tale. Characters are interesting and believable. One of the best things about the book is that the horror features are full on, no holds barred. This is some scary stuff that left me leaping at shadows. Wish Mountford had developed the plot around that book some more. It featured so prominently and then dropped out of the story
A new Author for me but I really enjoyed it although the ending wasn't what I was expecting.... I will definitely look for more book's written by this Author
This book really sets a tone. A creepy, maleficent, doom impending tone…A tone that I now need to feed because I am totally addicted! So thrilled there’s more books to read. If you love a good haunted house, this is the book for you. And I still have so many more questions!!! Can’t wait to get into the next book.
