It's been a long time since I've read a 5 star read that was from a new to me author. Thanks to my book bestie, I found this series.

Rhea found out she has magic.... And maybe some supernatural lovers who are bound to her soul? Very well written, very compelling, true page turner. Five stars, three 🌶️🌶️🌶️ for spice content.

5.0 out of 5 stars I have found my new obsession

After a miserable reading slump of many DNFs, I have found the series that I am going to fully devour and completely make my life and personality for the next year.

Rhea is a bad freaking A and I loved her from the moment we met her. She takes no crap and guides us through a world unknown at the same time she’s discovering who and what she is. Not a single moment of time with her felt wasted and she truly captured my attention.

Enter female friendships. Now, I know nothing of this author or previous work, and I am DESPERATE for the female friendships to truly be genuine throughout the entire series (as in, no future betrayals). Obviously we have the brat enemy, but Harmonia, Cassandra, and Thalia need to forever remain untarnished because I love female friendships and I need them to forever be BFFFFs.

I was PLEASANTLY surprised to find the scattering of multiple POVs in this book. I was not expecting it and boyyyyy did it deliver. It’s a little hard to get a grip on all the Elites but that’s simply because book 1 is introducing the world and showing us a taste. I am also a HUUUUUUGE fan of the boys being friends/found fam beforehand. Listen, I’m all for the enemies to lovers and tension and such, but damn did the draw of all four of them and Rhea plus their OPEN COMMUNICATION with one another turn me onto their relationships SO MUCH FASTER and SO MUCH BETTER than ever before.

I have a few meh moments, like the constant “wetting of lips” as a facial gesture, but honestly when a book has such good characters and (as of now) healthy relationships depicted, I will never bat an eye at that kind of awkwardness.

That cliffy tho… ruin me.

There should be no question about which book I’m picking up next.

Quite the whirlwind.

A few errors and mistypes in the beginning but the whole story quickly takes you in. Some bits were expected of course, the foreshadowing was heavy, but still very much enjoyable!

Overall, I’m sold.

Enjoying the world building and secrets but just way too much of the phrase”wet my lips” is so irritating and concerning, distracts from the story. Otherwise there’s other ways to show some one is thinking or nervous but this phrase was too many times

Good story building!!

Definitely gets you hooked!!

The two Spice scenes were my type of yummy spice!!! I’m excited what the future books will have!!

I love that the 4 guys are uniquely different, it makes the RH stories so much better!!

My only negative is the FMC seems so strong but at the same time blindly dumb and running away from a fate she has absolutely no choice in nor does she want anything different.
I feel like it makes her weak and dumb trying to battle something she actually wants.
But towards the end of this book I think she was finally giving in to the guys!!!
Thank god cuz she needs as many people in her dang corner as possible right now instead of running them off.

On to Book 2

4.0 out of 5 stars Weird ending

This is a great story, and I am really caught up in it. The male main characters feel separate, distinct and compelling. The heroine has an interesting back story, and she lis strong but vulnerable. Sometimes her "strong" looms a bit like blind stubbornness, but I still like her. I thought the change in the ending felt abruptly weird. It didn't exactly work for me. I still want to continue with the story, though.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but unfocused

I am writing after reading all the books, and I'll try to avoid spoilers.

The series was interesting, creative, and mostly well written. I liked all the main characters, and there is a pretty good differentiation in the harem, so it doesn't feel like it could have been just 1 guy. The plot twists were mixed, some really obvious and some coming out of left field, but nothing really unbelievable. All in all, a pretty good read, except for the cliffhangers. I don't like them, and it's why I wait until a series is complete to read the whole thing. So I'm never going to like it when an author writes a cliffhanger and then ignores it for almost an entire book (book 2-3). It just felt like the author forgot about leaving us hanging and kinda ruined it for me.

So freaking good...! And that ending...yes...I kinda figured one part but not the other..that surprised me...and yup, no spoilers...

Five stars for a new compelling and interesting story in the Paranormal Reverse Harem realm. I love the firey main character...Rhea is perfect, relatable and a person you want to get what she deserves. Her sarcastic blunt sass is amazing.
The hot guys are each individually diffrent and I love that it is easy to distinguish who is who...that alone makes it a great read.
The best friend cracks me up.
Overall I am excited to read book two... like right now....
Yup give me book two.....

5.0 out of 5 stars This book was everything I didn't know I wanted!

Holy! Crap! This was a recommendation from a friend and I have never been so happy that I listened to her. This book has a little bit of everything…gods, angels, demons, shifters, and vampires, with a little bit of Greek mythology thrown in. Pair that with a kick a** FMC that I knew I was going to love less than 5 minutes after meeting her, and some seriously HOT male characters that you can’t help but be charmed by, and you have the recipe for an amazing book. Not to mention the fact that not only do we get Rhea’s POV, but we also get chapters from the guys POVs, which I love, because I NEED to know what the guys are thinking.

Rhea has catapulted herself onto my list of favorite female characters because not only is she a bad*** but the way that she handles things after being thrown into a completely different world that she knows nothing about is incredible. She’s so strong and self confident and will absolutely stand up for herself, and I want her to be my best friend. Speaking of…strong female friendships is something that I love to see in books and we absolutely get that with the friendship between Rhea, Harmoia, and the twins.

Usually when I read rh, I have a favorite character among the guys, but that’s just not the case in this book. I mean, if I was MADE to pick one, then I would, but at this point I love them all equally. Right now, I’m just hoping for some group scenes in future books, because I just know that they are going to be so hot I’ll probably need a cold shower to cool off.

I called most of the twist at the end, but there was one part of it that completely threw me. There’s something I’m hoping to see happen at the beginning of the next book that I’m keeping my fingers crossed for. I just loved this book so much that I’m now going to go try to find some books to fill the void until the next one comes out.

Okay, the beginning was what had me sucked in! & from there, it only gets better. Rhea is a 22 yo girl who just found her stupid ex cheating on her, on her damn bday!! I was furious for her. But then her life turns upside down by being invited (well forced really) to be tested for magic. Buckle up for a wild ride. Seriously about to go get the second book. I can def see myself buying the whole series for my shelves.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could be a great book but needs fleshing out and ends on a cliffhanger
Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2023

It could have been a great book, but there are a number of issues annoyed me reading.

This should be the last issue but I hate when an author has a cliffhanger and doesn't mention it in the blurb. IF the author mentions it in the blurb, you then have the choice to read or not. When you get to the end, and it's a cliffhanger, it makes me want to call the author certain names.

This world is interesting but the author skims over filling it in, instead spending so much time on repeating scenes or long descriptive paragraphs that aren't really needed. I want to know more about the world in terms of the powers everyone has.

This author also doesn't seem to really have looked at Greek mythology. Adonis as the son of Hades and Persephone could work, except there is an Adonis god who isn't their kid. An aside of "named for Adonis who died in the war", would have covered that. Also, Hades and Persephone are both gods, so why are they classed as demons (not answered). Hades is the brother of Zeus, which makes Rhea and Adonis first cousins. Also not covered. I know Greek gods slept with anything and everything but sigh...

Having a Christmas break in a world ruled by Greek Gods also doesn't make sense. Why are they celebrating a holiday for another god? I understand that's the school system in the US but why?

Dante is one of 6 important people as one of the Hex and seems to live in a suburb in the beginning of the series. He does have a Porsche but Rhea doesn't seem to know he's mega rich. Doesn't fit the concept of one of the Hex.

A lot of little things that need to be fleshed out in this book to make it a 4 or even 5 star read.

These seem small

5.0 out of 5 stars I NEED MORE SAINTS ACADEMY! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

YES! YES! YES! Reckless Souls is so unique and phenomenal! It is so different than others that I have read and it has so much detail in the world building. You have your standard PNR elements, like shifters and vampires, but you also have others like demons, angels and gods, which in turn brings a bit of mythology into the series.

Rhea is an ophan "earthling" and on her 22nd birthday EVERTHING she has known for the last 22 years changes. She is forced into Saints Academy on Paradise Heights. Yes, ON. Rhea has no idea who or what she is. With Rhea not knowing much about this part of the world, she has a bit of help from a friend that she meets day one named Harmonia. I love her. She is the best friend anyone could ever have. She is there when Rhea needs her, but doesn't ask questions or force Rhea to tell her things when she doesn't want to.

Rhea has been informed of The Elite and tries to stay as far away from them as possible. The Elite consists of Khaos, Xander, Zen and Adonis. They are 🔥🔥 With this being the first in a series, I was expecting it to be on the slow burn side, but I was wrong and there are a few spicy bits in it. It isn't instalove, but there is so much chemistry between her and The Elite. There isn't much bullying betweeen her and the guys, that more or less comes from others.

I cannot wait for the next book. I was picking up on hints as to what the cliffhanger was going to be, but did not expect it to go down like it did. I need to know what is coming and how Rhea and her men are going to handle it.
