4.0 out of 5 stars Loved Hating Her

Ainsley, a major character, was very easy to dislike, even though everyone fanned over her and wanted to be her friend. Rich people, small minds, elaborate parent association all mixed up in some shady deals and then a murder.

In many ways similar to Big, Little, Lies, but fun. If you are looking for a lighter read, it is for you.

2.0 out of 5 stars So promising, yet…

I was ready for a fun who-done-it with catty, entitled backstabbing PTA moms, but my hopes were dashed about halfway through. The storyline became preposterous and outright silly. There were too many unlikeable characters with little substance.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of drama
Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2023
This is a mystery with a cast of high drama characters, women who belong to a school's parent group. There is a clique led by a well-to-do woman with a multitude of secrets. As a matter of fact, there are enough secrets to keep any interested sleuth busy, especially a young woman who has her eye on the hot cop who recruits her to be his informant. I enjoyed the story and the nice plot twists but got a little bit lost at the end. That might just be me.

I won a hardcover copy of this novel in a Goodreads giveaway.

3.0 out of 5 stars Suprise ending
Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2023
I got this book as a Goodreads Giveaway. I thought it started out rather slow. One it's about rich housewives in the running for a PTA type presidency. And PTA is life for the women in these books. All are topics I could care less about. Two the characters are not combined in the reading much, it's one of those that hops around to the perspective of each character mostly, and that type of writing doesn't appeal to me much. The lead character has sex with her ex boyfriend 4 days after his wife dies thought that rather rude and tasteless in my opinion. The book is a murder mystery, I will say kudos to the writer because the ending is a suprise. I couldn't figure out who the murderer was before hand and I usually can. Could have been better written, but it still gets ya in the end. #goodreadsgivaway #mystery

4.0 out of 5 stars Bad Moms in PTA Mystery
Reviewed in the United States on February 19, 2023
Regrets Only was a fast enjoyable read. The storyline includes rich people behaving badly and a crazy PTA scandal, it did seem eerily similar to Big Little Lies. Paige is the main character and a lot of the story revolves around her and her daughter moving back to her Connecticut hometown after she is fired from her job in Hollywood as a screenwriter for a detective show. Also, there is quite a cast of mom characters in this book, each with their own unique personality and lifestyle. Several of the chapters alternate between the viewpoints of these different characters. With all the various subplots from each character, it kept the story moving along.

4.0 out of 5 stars Too much Mama Drama!
Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2023
Paige Lancaster was a writer for a successful Detective series in L.A., but after getting passed up for a promotion that should have been hers-and losing her temper as a result-she now finds herself broke, homeless, and back to living with her widowed Mom, with her eight year old daughter, Izzy, in the town she grew up in.

Her daughter Izzy’s first couple of days at school don’t go very well. Paige is late for pick-up-struggles to parallel park her car since she hasn’t done so since 11th grade-runs into her high school boyfriend John (awkward) and has all of this witnessed by the perfectly put together mothers who run the Parent Booster Association for the elementary school-participation-100 %.

These women were probably your typical mean girls, now all grown up with prestigious husbands, money and nothing better to do but plan elaborate fund raisers for the school and blackmail each other!

But, when the President of the PBA, John’s wife Ainsley, gets murdered-suspicion is cast on Paige-because she and John were caught alone, at the annual Parents and Pinot Party.

Having written for a cop show for years, Paige knows how this goes-They look at the husband first…but if he gets cleared…his former lover is scrutinized next…

Maybe, Paige can use what she has learned from writing for the Detective show to do some undercover sleuthing of her own, and get closer to the Hot Cop, Dominic Ramos, in the process?

Although I didn’t enjoy this book as much as her last “Wish You Were Gone” it did keep me entertained.

I was expecting (and would have enjoyed) MORE “sleuthing” and less “mama drama” but if you like stories with plenty of dirty laundry-this one is for you!

3.5 ⭐️ rounded up!

4.0 out of 5 stars Thrilling and Dramatic read!
Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2023
After disaster strikes Paige's life she finds herself moving back home to Connecticut to live in her childhood home with her mother. It's not an ideal situation, but with her professional life in shambles she really has no other alternative. Thinking that small town living might just be what her and her daughter need right now, a quiet life in a simple little town. Upon signing her daughter up to attend the same elementary school that she did Paige learns that things have changed since she left town, there is now a group of suburban women who rule the school. They are part of the prestigious PBA group and as long as you stay on their good side you'll be fine... but if not there will be he*& to pay!

Unfortunately for Paige she lands herself on their bad side before she even has a chance to introduce herself!

Regrets Only is a drama-filled page-turner that will have you obsessed from the first chapter! As you follow the lives of three women and their dramatic little world unfolds you will soon learn that no one is on an even playing field is the grand city of Piermont. Secrets, lies, and betrayal are the name of the game for these women, and they will do almost anything to stay atop the PBA... even commit murder!

This thrilling read kept me up until the wee hours of the morning, I felt like I was watching some juicy reality television show, I just couldn't get enough! I've got to say it was well worth the loss of sleep though, who knew being a suburban mom could be so entertaining! Highly recommend this one for anyone who enjoys domestic suspense, it's words will take you places you never saw coming!!
