Great humor, great storyline and great friends. Both characters had depth and style, and were enjoyable to read about. Snark was had all around and the story kept moving without becoming bogged down. I will read anything this author writes from now on!👍

4.0 out of 5 stars Love the story but it's toooooo long..

My first book from Kenzie Reed and I'm not disappointed. I love the love story..A funny love story.. A rom- com.. but there are too many pages. I do love Winona and Blake. The way they met for the first time is hilarious.. Totally funny. A lot of funny moments.. I love a story like this. Simple..and totally relatable. Winona is funny and sassy...and strong woman. She give a s good as she get. Blake..well he's a very boring and rigid kind of guy. He only knows to work all day.. You know what they say.. Work all day make Blake a very dull and boring guy. After they met, his life is much more happier than before. Lots of interesting characters in this story. Great friends and neighbors.. I like the ending..after 400+ pages, finally happy ending. Wish there's more in the epilogue.. Like wedding and babies... Overall, not a bad read..👌👍😍🔥

4.0 out of 5 stars Blake and Winona

This story had so many funny moments, poignant moments, and inspirational moments. We should all be so lucky to know someone as smart, giving and unique as Winona. I loved her honesty and southern humor.

Blake has secrets revealed through the course of the story that explained a lot about his personality, his work ethic, and the importance of family. He starts out so self assured and cocky, but Winona soon breaks through his public persona and reveals a man that needs the love and affection he lacked as a child.

Kenzie Reed wove a take that was hard to put down. I fell in love with all of the characters that were part of her little community of neighbors. She may have come from a small town like Peach Pit, but she created the same gifts of generosity among her friends in New York, too. There’s jealousy, misunderstandings, unwarranted blow ups, and jumping to the wrong conclusion that help fuel the fire and drive the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT!!!!

*No spoilers included*

It's been awhile since I read a really good rom-com. But "(Not) The Boss of Me" was a really Fun read!!! Since I did most of my reading while my littlest was sleeping I was quietly snickering and giggling to myself throughout. With Winona's funny southern sayings and her no bullsh*t attitude she made this a great read!! I loved how she made Blake work for it when he made mistakes and didn't just fold with a simple apology. Because in the real world when our men royaly mess up, they need to grovel a little bit! Just saying I'm sorry sometimes isn't enough.
The main characters may not be every day kinda people, (obviously with one of them being ridiculously rich), but the way the author Kenzie Reed wrote about them, not so much the world in which they live, but just how they live their day to day lives kind of made them relatable. She struggles to make ends meet working all sorts of jobs, while trying to land 'The' job, the one shes always wanted. And he is a workaholic who doesn't know how to balance work and his life. I believe those are two roles that a lot of people can relate to.

I will definitely be reading more from this author!!

This is the first book I have read by this author and I was really impressed. I love, love the characters and they were well written and interesting. I fell in love with Blake and Winona from the start and I enjoyed their journey. They were perfect for each other and had amazing chemistry. This had some hilarious moments and I loved their back and forth banter. It gave me all the feels and my emotions were all over the place and that is a sign of a great author to me. I can't wait to read more from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Haven’t laughed this much in years

I’ve been reading 3+ books a day for six months straight with Kindle Unlimited; this is the first one I couldn’t resist leaving a review for. (Don’t be like me and end your sentences with a preposition; I’m still recovering from oxygen deprivation resulting from my gasping with laughter and it’s affecting my normal eloquence) I can honestly say that though I have read so many entertaining books from outstanding writers in the past few months, I am finally forced to leave my first review because this book is a real gem. If you want to spend a few hours rolling around with laughter so extensive that your family can’t help laughing with you (even though they have no clue why YOU are laughing), Kenzie Reed has just the book for the job right here. I can’t wait to see if the rest of her books are just as irresistible, absorbing, and downright hysterically funny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quirky and funny and sexy, oh don't forget peaches

If those words don't tell how much fun I had reading this book let me tell you this
Yes I read in a day (and night😉).
Winona is weird, quirky and fun and spunky. No wilting willow here.
Blake is deluded, rich and handsome boss (in the way a heart could be pretty).
It has menagerie of funny characters and devoted friends. Including a  bunch of sweet older women who don't believe in " giving the cow away for free".

You put all of those things in a big stock pot and give a good stir, and you get this this millionaire/assistant love story. With enough "story"to make it deliciously unrealistic.
Oh and did I mention sexy.😉😆

Sorry no werewolf or vampires, no shape shifters, no cowboys and no aliens, and unrealistic sex positions.

Thank you, #KenzieReeds for not making yet another ordinary read, and remembering that sexy doesn' t have to involve over the top sex scenes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Blake Hudson.

Blake Hudson was a devoted workaholic. He lived to work all the time. He was so wrapped up in being like his father and never failing until he was hit with the real truth. His sister was really devoted to saving her brother from the threats of their uncle. What she did took courage and as you read the book you see why Alice never got along with their uncle. He was a low down thief. Loved Tamara she was too smart for her own good. Winona was too funny. She did not care what anybody said about her. She was a true free spirit. She loved her best friend and her neighborhood. She truly cared about people and looked out for them and they returned it to her. Her parents were too funny. The ending came too fast.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really enjoyable

Though the premise of the book - assistant/boss with class divide - is a well trodden one, I thought I'd give this a go as I hadn't read this author. I wanted to read something feel good and the last couple of books with this type have been a let down either because the characters were so unlikable you couldn't imagine them changing(mainly the men), were just overwritten (mainly the women), or the humour missed the mark. This book avoids that. Right from the first few pages, the imagery is great and the author puts you right in the story so you can feel like you're there. The main leads are well written an believable. The chemistry is the perfect amount and I love the snark and sarcasm on both sides. Whilst there are faults with Blake, theres no real nastiness either. The families are nice and quirky. The side characters in Hells Kitchen are a little ott. The humour running throughout is light and well done. Also, because its fairly continuous, you don't get whiplash from character's appearing to have had personality transplants. It was just the read I was looking for. I will read the author again.

This was my first book by this author but I will definitely be looking at her back catalogue. I Don’t know enough about business to comment on whether the business operations were realistic but who cares when the banter was so good! Loved the bickering, loved the sweet but no pushover heroine who makes our hero want to be a better man. Their coming together was a beautiful story. Sadly, I felt the ending was a bit over the top and I actually flicked through it to the finish which is why I have deducted a star.
