The sequel to, what I consider, an epic fantasy unlike any other I've ever read. Like book 1, this one covers the world populated by elves. A world with elves that ain't like any you've ever read about before. It has everything you could want in an epic fantasy--battles, action-packed scenes, fantastical creatures, layers of history between the creatures and people that make up that particular world, and above all an unavoidable evil presence that needs to be dealt with before everything is lost.
After finishing book 1, I was curious how Jordan would continue moving everything to newer heights (wish I could be more specific, but I ain't spoiling that story for any potential reader). Alas, Jordan does it. I care for too many characters in this world to list here. I care for their world, their lands, their beautiful creatures and culture, and it's all at risk of being taken away forever.
I'm not sure if Jordan outlines his stories at all, but I would imagine he does. The amount of detail in this book alone is impressive. I want to tell all of you potential readers about the people that suffer from the battles in this, the ones who damn near die, the ones who had my heart screaming to make it all better, but that ain't what this reviewer does. My goal is to interest you enough in a story that I'd go to bat for and say it's a damn good 5 star epic fantasy that I'm anxiously awaiting book 3 for.
