I loved this book immensely. Love love love loved it! I’ve read this author before under a different pen name and genre, and I loved her work already, but this was something completely different, unexpected, and oh so wonderful. I wish it was longer. I didn’t want it to end.
About six months ago, I could swear that I will never read contemporary anything, let alone romance, and then several of my favourite authors decided to start writing contemporary romance that I simply had to read. By the time this book was announced I was already bouncing and looking forward to reading it. I knew the author was really good. And now after I finished it, I can say with confidence that I am a huge fan of contemporary romance, especially when it this well written.
The idea is sweet and wonderful without being over the top. The author presents two lovely people who have great lives at the moment, but didn’t always have it easy or good. They had their hardships, they worked hard, and they made great lives for themselves. They meet in a good moment, and the connection is there immediately, but without being insta-love or anything like that. There is no drama, or ridiculous grand gestures, just beautiful story full of friendly banter and very funny and entertaining situations. Okay there is a little bit of drama, you gotta have drama, but nothing over the top.
The author also did a great job on setting the scene and developing the characters. Everything that happens is natural and realistic, it just left me with the smile and feeling content. Each of the characters is amazing, but together, they are just perfect. The way they care about each other and have each other’s backs, it’s just super sweet.
This was a fantastic happy positive book, one of those you read with a smile on your face. The author promotes a positive body image and the ultimate self acceptance, and I love her for it. And although this is a standalone with a happy ending and no sequel, I will be eagerly anticipating whatever next the author decides to write and I know I’m going to love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars All the sweet and sassy you want in a romance!

I’ve been so excited to read this book, & it doesn’t disappoint!

Ms. Gallant created a romance between these two characters with whit and charisma.

The main character, Vivian, is relatable in so many ways. I love her sass, especially! She’s a girlfriend I’d love to go thrifting with. I also love her relationship with her mom, who is an absolute riot.

Jax is the misunderstood playboy that makes the perfect male lead as he’s really caring and lonely. I loved witnessing the slow burn relationship take root, grow, bloom, and flourish!

I’m looking forward to reading more romances by Kitty Gallant!

Such a cute book. I loved how Jax was a mixture of an alpha and totally sweet cinnamon roll. Both Jax and Vivi were well developed with rich paths and personalities that made them feel like real people. Well they are obviously perfect for each other they still have their own things to work through. Vivi had great internal monologue and she was funny and insecure and strong. Although her mother wasn’t in it too much she still felt like a well rounded character along with all of the other side characters.
I do wish there was a little bit more with Vivi‘s ex boss so we could know that little bit of her past slightly better. Although not having it did not detract from the overall story. It was cute. It was funny. I loved it. I can’t wait to read or listen to more of this author’s work!
I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was really good. Although, I wish she would have made some voice distinction beyond accent for the different characters, it wasn’t hard to follow along. So it’s hard to say if it’s because the writing was so well done or if the narrator pulled it off through The pauses between character dialogue.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and it will not be the last. The social issues interwoven seamlessly throughout the story make this book worth reading. Kitty Gallant did a fantastic job describing the characters that are likable, opinionated, and believable. The major and minor characters have pivotal roles and purposes in the story. Kudos for such an amazing story!!💕💕💕😻😍😻

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm in love with this book!
Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2019
This was hands down one of the best things I read this year. It wasn't because of the writing or the characters but because of the message. Although, the writing and the characters were top notch as well. As someone who struggles with self esteem and weight issues, this book really hit home for me. Vivian was an amazing character. She was sassy, confident, smart, and full of life. But even people full of life have self esteem issues. This book tackled the topic of weight, cyber bullying, and self esteem. It delivered it with great finesse. The delivery of the story was great. The relationship that Vivian had with Jax was one of my favorite things because it was developed through banter. Anyone who knows what I like to read? It's banter between characters. Banter that doesn't feel forced or like something someone wouldn't say in real life. Nothing like that existed in this book.

I won this book in an author group and I'm so happy I did. I discovered a fantastic book and a new author to add to my ever growing list.

What a great read! The main characters are fun and relatable. As a curvy woman with a slim attractive husband I found I completely related with the main character with her self conscious about her wobbly bits and how could such an attractive man be into her. It was refreshing to read such honesty about how she feels about herself and also that many men do love the curvy ladies!! It was a fun read. A great book to have fun with, to enjoy the sexiness of it, and to leave you feeling great about who you are.
