How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic

The book came in, in good condition, bought “New”. The story itself in the book is a classic, one that many people read during their high school years but doesn’t quite click with them at first. Most people that pick this book up, do so after experiencing adulthood. I mean the book itself hits so many marks with its themes of the early jazz age.

However, I wanna bring the attention of this review to this version of the Book itself. the book has jagged edges Their called Deckled edges, Technically it is a gimmick but it is not a flaw from the manufacturer. They’re are different editions to this book and one should buy one of those instead of this version from this listing.

5.0 out of 5 stars A remarkable tale of ambition and dreams
Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2020
There is so little left to be said about F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, a book I consider my favorite all the thousands of books I’ve read in my lifetime. Fitzgerald tells the simple story of Jay Gatsby, a fabulously wealthy but insecure man who gives massive parties at his mansion on Long Island, hoping to attract the woman of his dreams, Daisy Buchanan. Told by Gatsby’s neighbor Nick Carraway, the novel is a cautionary tale. With incredibly evocative spare, perfectly chosen, prose, the novel is rich with imagery. Colors are vibrant and used to enrich characterizations and perceptions. Foods and flowers are abundant, pointing out the wealth and beauty of the world of high society of the 1920s. Notorious partiers, Fitzgerald and his wife Zelda are thought of as decadents who wasted their lives, but Fitzgerald’s writing is so precise and carefully crafted, it is obvious he was a master writer whose life was spent with discipline where his writing was concerned. The Great Gatsby is the work of a master, and its message is simple yet profound: we all are striving to achieve our dreams, even if those dreams are unachievable or perhaps even not worth striving for. This is a tragic tale, but it is told with elegance.
