5.0 out of 5 stars A mark you’ll want to carry

Are you a fan of Twilight? Do you have a thing for the paranormal? If you answered yes to either of those questions you have to dive into Eternal Curse. Kara Leigh Miller has weaved this magical web around her book to keep you trapped. She has bypassed (in my humble opinion) Meyer in this series.

Chloe Madison is a teenager that you just want to hold and nurture. She has lost her mom during what every person knows is one the hardest parts of life, the teenage years. Chloe is then whisked away from the only place she knows to live with family.  Who wouldn’t want to just cuddle her up and protect her after that? Trent and his twin brother, Jax, are also new to town. Mysterious and gorgeous. Trent seems drawn to Chloe. Their connection is unexpected and weirdly strong from the beginning.

This story has everything you could want…mystery, romance, angst and heart. Miller knows how to grab a readers interest and keep it to the point you’re begging for more. That was me! I read book 1 and then rushed out to buy book 2 and preorder books 3 & 4. Now I have preordered the whole series. Yes they are all up for buying or preorder.

Miller’s world and character building skills are paramount. Everything evolves so perfectly. At no point was I left wondering how things changed so rapidly and what had I missed somehow. The flow was marvelous.

This is one book that you do not want to miss and is my favorite paranormal series of 2020. Make sure you check out Kara Leigh Miller and the Cursed series. Be prepared because Trent, Chloe and Jax will keep you on your toes and bite their way into your heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great story!

This book is amazing.

I'm typically not a paranormal romance fan, and if I read about vampires, I prefer an historical steampunk story. I adore this cover SO MUCH. Thought I'd check it out. This novel was so well done. Fantastic characters, beautiful foreshadowing. Great chemistry and romance. I really enjoyed the back and forth between the two, and the crazy introduction of other characters who do nothing but cause problems!

I appreciated that it was clean - no sex and language at this point. For a mom, this means a lot. I can let my teen read this without over-worrying. Also from a personal standpoint, I much prefer clean reading. While the romance is heavy, it's handled very well.

Overall a great story! I'm super excited it's going to be a series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Grateful Book Two is Right Around the Corner

Can I just say that I am so relieved that book two is coming out in thirteen days? You'll see why. I felt this was well written because it was also set up a little different than the run of the mill YA fantasy fiction. I enjoyed the sub stories and believe that Kara could make them into successful stories apart from this one.

I very much liked that while the heroine had her own personality and opinions that it was not dripping with forced feminism. That's very popular right now and it's honestly suffocating and unrealistic so I was happy that she was a normal person and there we no underlying political points.

I do feel that our love interest could have been developed further as his own person. At times, his presence felt more like a projection for information you needed to know rather than building his personal character development.

Overall, I thought that her sentences and paragraphs flowed very well. Each chapter simply picked up where you left off leaving it more seemless which is nice for a curled up read.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very well done vampire story

What a wonderful rollercoaster ride is this! This book takes the elements from Twilight and The Vampire Diaries we all loved so much and twists them into something new and exciting and interesting. There was romance, there was danger, there was lying and deceiving and there was heartbreak. I also really love how this book managed to capture the small town environment. I personally also really liked Chloe as a person. She's not just somehow okay with things, she needs time to come to terms with every new piece of information she gets. She's likable, and it's therefore easy to understand why people would fall for her, but she's not perfect and makes mistakes. I will certainly read the next book!

4.0 out of 5 stars A fun fast-paced read!

I really enjoyed this book! It was fast-paced and didn’t take forever to get to the main plot. The characters were likable and relatable to a point. I’m definitely going to be grabbing the sequel in paperback!

I noticed some reviews complained about similarities between this book and Twilight/Vampire Diaries. I haven’t seen VD, but the author specifically mentions that both of those works were her inspiration for this series. So I’m a bit confused why you would think there WOULDN’T BE similarities 🤔

It was a fun read and I would have no problem with my teen girls reading this. I’d actually rather them read this over Twilight because it is less angsty! I’m excited to find out more of the story in the next installment!

Paranormal romance isn't something I usually read. Gonna be honest here, not a fan of Twilight. But I decided to give Eternal Curse a try. Boy was I in for a surprise. I could NOT put it down. Pretty much ignored personally responsibilities until I finished. I had to know more.

The characters were real and relatable. The story was written in a way that you weren't really reading the story but experiencing it. I can't wait for the next book in the series
