I've read all of Mark's books and this one is a great read along with the rest of them. Beau who is the school joke has this thing for Sidney the manager and towel boy for the wrestling team. Sidney has always dreamed of being with a boy as beautiful as Beau and when Beau shows interest in him Sidney can't believe that Beau would be interested in a boy like him. They date and one night when Beau walks Sidney home and they kiss goodnight and Beau walks away into the darkness, Sidney had no clue this would be the last he see's of Beau who just disappears off the face of the earth. Forward 20 years and Stanley starts seeing a spitting image of his lost love at different times in and around town. I wonder if Graymoor Mansion might be involved in this story and if so how? You will also love meeting up with others you know from some of the other books. You don't want to miss this one.
This book brought me back to my own teenage years from the same period of time.
This story reflected the time when the love of my life was still with me. The joys, and the heartache that ensued after I lost him. I can relate with the character of Sid, never forgetting and yearning for the one never to return. Never able to move on from that one special person.
I would give anything for my life to parallel this story, but regretfully I must live in this world and relive my youth through the special memories of that time.
If you love good stories about love, loss, fantasy and adventer, then you will surely enjoy this story.
I am a big fan of Mark Roeder, and must say, this is one of my favorites.
5.0 out of 5 starsWill read this one again, and again.

I really enjoyed this story. I have not read any other books by this author, but am planning on doing so. One review stated that they "had to suspend too much reality to enjoy this story". To each his own. I read romance and fantasy books for a reason....to suspend reality. I like to escape and lose myself in a story that is nothing like the "reality" I live every day. I still have hope that one day I can actually escape this "reality" for a beautiful adventure, full of love, like this story.

I own, and have read, everyone of Mark Roeder's books. He's one of my favorite authors. What I can't understand, is why there are so many typing errors in all his writing. He even states he has others proof read his work, yet, I can't believe there so many errors. (Perhaps he should hire me to proof read his work before they're published). That said, he's one of the best authors and story tellers I've ever read. His stories are complete, his characters feel real and are full fledged. So often stories about gay love or romance, or gay coming of age, are so filled with explicit sex scenes, sometimes every other page.... it seems like those other authors think that gay people's idea of love is all about sex, or that gay people are constantly or continually having sex. Mark Roeder's work is not like that, thank god. His scenes of love or sex are described in a loving and unexplicit way. I love how so many of the characters in his books are entwined together as friends in the same town and area from the 1980s to present day. His stories are poignant, refreshing, and often give me a positive feeling in the end, with a good moral of hope for love.
I am always amazed at how much I love each one of Mark Roeder's books. This one, like the others, is no exception. There are familiar characters from past stories that tie in so well with Sid & Beau's. The great thing about any of Mark's story telling, though, is that you really don't need to read them (in order of the timeline) to enjoy them. It helps, based on continued characters and their interactions, but it isn't necessary. "Come Back To Me" is a great addition to the already wonderful town of Verona, IN.
Mark has created such a large universe of characters in Verona, it’s sometimes difficult to follow the connections. As I read this book I recalled some of the usual players from the past and present. I still kept thinking why didn’t Brandon and Jon talk about X or Ethan mention Y. Shoehorned into the cannon is Come Back To Me. 3.0 for Graymore Mansion Magic.

I enjoyed Mark's latest book very much. It introduces new characters while revisiting several characters who have been in previous books. the book was somewhat predictable but I was surprised by the actual outcome. I was expecting something similar to this but not this particular ending which made it more interesting.
Intriguing and original plot makes for an excellent and satisfying read. Characters all come alive and breathe a living presence into the story. Could’t put the book down. Read it in one sitting, giving up a day to do so. It actually brought back fond memories of my youth and as my current status as a teacher. I am looking forward to reading other books by Mark Roeder. Highly recommended!
Another excellent read from Mr Roeder. Gay themed, as is normal in his works, it's not so deep in angst as other works but an entertaining read with a deliciously supernatural twist in the tail.

I thought this was a fairly straightforward college tale with a love affair between a jock and a lesser mortal. When the main character is killed the future seems bleak. Life goes on for many years until a totally unexpected twist makes a happy ending possible.

Another great book from Mark. This is a fill in story but it stands alone and just might take you to that empty soccer field where someone could be watching for you from the mansion.

A new book by Mark always goes to the top of my reading list. It was great to re-visit Verona and meet new characters Sid and Beau as well as catch up with several characters from previous books. "Come Back to Me" is a beautiful love story with some mystery, horror and fantasy-a very satisfying tale. It could probably be read alone, but someone who has read the other books in the "Verona Gay Youth Chronicles" will find this much more satisfying (the book list can be found at markroeder.com) Definitely 5 stars!
