When I read the blurb, I couldn't wait to read this story, I thought I was going to read a great shifter second chance romance. Too bad I got a crap story instead. This story has to be written by an over-sexed teenager. Sophia is a 19 year old shifter who finds her mate 5 years after he "rejected" her. At first Sophia seemed cool, but as the story progressed I found myself thinking what an idiot she was. She is desired by EVERY male cause she smells like heaven. Of course she only has eyes for the one who called her "no-one" years ago. Masen, her mate is the Alpha of the territory and a douchebag who has sex with any female with a pulse even though he KNOWS he has a mate. He does have a steady side piece for the last 5 years though - She is his personal assistant and she services him in EVERY way possible. That is until he sees Sophia again. Now that she is of consenting sex age, he is ready to ride the Mate train. He goes from being a powerful Alpha to a total pup around her. She goes from being a never been kissed virgin to a champion bull riding sex fiend with Olympic oral skills in 2 days. The sex scenes in here are laughable. I found myself rolling my eyes at how badly they were written. They screamed Amateur Writer. Anyways, Sophia is hurt by how he has had sex with loads of women while she has kept herself pure, but that doesn't stop her from spreading her legs the day after she meets him. The whole story is basically sex driven - they get upset, they have sex, he hurts her feelings. they have sex, she bakes him cookies, they have sex, they go for a run, they have sex, they take a shower, they have sex.....you get the picture. He calls her Little One, she calls him Big Guy. It has a creep factor to it considering their backstory. I forgot her name was Sophia after a while because he calls her Baby or Little One after nearly every sentence. Another Issue - the antagonist, aka Roxanne the PA, consistently gets away with rubbing how much sex she has had with Masen in Sophia's face. Of course, Masen doesn't do anything about it. He is the biggest air-headed wuss. I'm serious, the guy is clueless when it comes to her ways. How he is Alpha is beyond me. Even after he marks Sophia, He can't even pick up on how upset she gets around his Roxy. Oh well, guess what? It's nothing a good round of sex can't fix. It is this writer's Cure-All after all. In the end, Roxy gets her due...of course you have to read through 360 pages of crap before you get two small sentences describing her demise. There is an Epilogue, and you guessed it - an epilogue sex scene of course! This book was garbage. Total time waster.
I accidentally stumbled across this book and am very grateful to have found a new author to follow. The storyline focuses on the relationship between Sophia and Masen as they find their way in becoming mates.
There are lots of sex scenes but you can choose to read them or skip over them to keep following the story. I like drama in my favorite stories and this has a lot dealing with the repercussions from the hero and heroine seeing each other when he was grown and she was only 14. He chooses to walk away to give her time to grow up but when he went back to find Sophia and her parents they were gone. Sophia took the way he handled the accidental meeting as a rejection, especially since he was present with another female.
Sophie's family wasn't a part of a pack and since she lost them shortly after the h/H meeting she ended up in human foster care and never learned specifics about packs or matings. She was a strong and sassy heroine and even though she is very generous with the mistakes Macen made while building a relationship; I think she was a force of her own to be reckoned with.
It is hard to find romances with exes making real trouble and I really enjoyed this one.
I've read a lot of cheesy YA books and a lot of cheesy Werewolf books. Which is why I can say with full confidence that this book had no substance. The sample was promising, but the full version was a major let down. The characters had so much potential to have more developed backgrounds and an intertwined plot, but they didn't. The main character, Sophia, changed from this independent, defensive girl with a traumatic background and no loving figures in her life, to this innocent, accepting, googly-eyed girl. SPOILER *******She willingly dropped her college classes like two weeks in (saying she'd go back but then got pregnant so I'm not sure how that turned out), which I think her major was photography, but it wasn't even mentioned. She also had this southern part of her that was a horrible stereotype that insisted she always fed everyone, wore her cowboy boots, and had a drawl. Everything about these characters was underdeveloped and had so much unfulfilled potential. The way the characters spoke and their reactions to situations were really unrealistic. Sophia called Masen "big guy" and he called her "little one" and it was kind of disturbing. Once they met, most of the book was sex scenes or sexual tension, even when others were around and it was insanely awkward. I've already asked for a refund and will hopefully be getting it.

I have gone back and forth over four stars or five. I feel like as a reader the storyline was great and full of strong characters. Grabbing my attention and not letting me down. It was full of humor, love, jealousy, betrayal, and action. I think the sub plot was alittle weak and the author missed a a good opportunity to twist it into a great one. Her voice was new and refreshing, however, one thing that bothered me alittle more than I wanted it to was editing. This story could really use another round or two of editing for wording and misspellings. If you love a great shifter/mate story I definitely recommend.

I bought this after I read it on Kindle Unlimited because I knew I would want to re-read it and it might not be availible later. It has been editied for errors as I didn't see that many. There is angst and drama and Mason does mess up-alot- but it because he's human as well as a shifter. Sophia could be stonger but then she' only 19. A good shifter story with lots of steamy sex- but I do like that in a story. Will look for other books from this author.
I bought this book as I like strong alpha females. What a let down. According to the storyline, Sophia is supposed to be an alpha. Well, she really needs to grow a set. She is a weak and pathetic character. She has no sass, snark or wit. She lets the alpha male treat her like a door mat. Every time he does something horrible to her (which is a lot), she just drops her knickers. There is no witty dialogue, proper fight scenes or even werewolf shifting. Masen the alpha is equally unlikeable. He is just a mean, selfish jerk who doesn't deserve a mate. If I have to hear him call her 'little one' one more time I will pull my hair out. I abandoned this book 70% of the way through. I heartily disliked both main characters and in the end didn't care what happened to them.
I only rated this book 1 star because I felt like it was very immature and the main character was extremely childish. There are spelling mistakes also. I dont normally rate books this low, but felt that it just didn't do it for me. It's not often that I am unable to at least finish a book before reviewing.
