I’m not gonna lie, I have a huge man crush on Mike Bennet.
And I am not ashamed.
I’ve listen to his podcasts for years. The buttery, Britishness of his voice will pull you in close as if to tell you a secret, then drip absolute menace into your ears with his vivid storytelling and intelligent characters.
Underwood and Flinch serves vampire fiction to its guests like surprise High Tea.
You sit down for a nice cuppa and realize there is waaay more than just tea here and you’re super underdressed for this. Oh wow, those tarts look amazing and is someone actually playing the violin?
Point is, it’s really good, okay?
If this is your first dip into the nice warm bath that IS author Mike Bennet, then Underwood and Flinch will have you busily tapping his name in your search bars in no time.

A True Masterpiece in the Vampire Genre

I do recommend listening to the audio/podcast version...(I believe one needs to be a Pateron subscriber at the 3$ level - it's worth it, many of his musings and short stories are available there as well). Mike Bennet does all the voices and is much better than many of the pros in the Audible-verse. He is working to get his books on Audible in the near future. The ongoing saga of Underwood and Flinch is tour d force in building an in-depth world where Vampires and a host of characters exist. Since I have listened to the audio version years ago, I bought the ebook recently to see how it compares to the audio version and was pleasantly surprised of the synergistic effect reading and channeling the voices from the podcast version had on the experience. His lates book in the ongoing saga, Underwood and Flinch Underground is also fabulous. He continues the saga in Underwood and Flinch Legion and am currently listening to the monthly podcast as he is writing and recording the story. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

This isn't just your bitten in the neck vampire story. It's rich with characters, scenery, imagery. The plot is even good. Many times I will find the plot of a book to be easily figured out. Or the complete opposite. I have no idea what's happening. If the story has well developed characters I will hang in there until the sometimes bitter end. No worries about that here. You come to really car and relate to Mike Bennett's people , vampires and the story. All I can say is please please listen to Mike's podcasts of the stories. They are brilliant. He does everything and every voice. It a real treat. So that's it. Listen, read and enjoy. You won't be sorry

I have been one of Mike's patrons for awhile now because of the excellence of his work. I've been listening to his stuff since the early days of Underwood & Flinch and Hall of Mirrors. I bought this book just show that added support. It sits with the few other items that represent what's impacted me most. I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but I'm a fan of horror and it had a vampire. But it's so much more than that. I found myself getting wrapped up in the story, and actually cared about the characters. The vampire Underwood wasn't portrayed as just a monster, and I could really relate to Flinch, a man stuck in a job he never wanted. I've read through it multiple times, and probably will again.
