Melanie’s an intern at the dog shelter, one task she’s been given is to make sure that the green space gets approved for a dog park instead of another shopping mall. One of the biggest obstacles is her way is councilman Adrian, and it doesn’t help that she can’t stop thinking about him and all his sexiness.

Adrian’s also struggling with his attraction towards Melanie, he’s torn between said attraction and the profit which could be made if there were a new shopping mall rather than the cost of a doggie park.

These two have two very different opinions, will the intense chemistry between them be enough to spur them towards a compromise? Will their differences ruin any chance of a relationship they could have together? Let the battle begin between these two...

This is another fantastic addition to the Cocky Hero Club, a quick read, the perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon on the couch with a cuppa.

Melanie is an intern at the dog shelter and she has been asked to help with trying to get a new place funding for the animal to run and have space to grow and get well. When she heads to get the papers in order she runs into a man who is about to drive her nuts. He's on the council and he is going to make her life hell, why because he wants the space as well to build a strip mall. Adrian has a plan in place and no one is going to ruin what he wants. Well that is until he gets a face-to-face run in with Melanie the women who makes him stop and think. He will do what he can to get what he wants. But what happens when you start to think another way. The banter between Melanie and Adrian is pretty funny and I loved how she didn't just bow down and take no for an answer. Find out who wins the lot and who doesn't.

This is a great addition to this phenomenal series and is Adrian and Melanie’s story. Melanie is an intern at the dog shelter who has been tasked with the job of getting approval from city council for a new dog park which the shelter desperately needs. Adrian is the sexy councilman who Melanie must convince, and they butt heads from the beginning, despite the undeniable chemistry between them. Adrian is torn between the dog park and a business which will generate more funds, but can they read a compromise? This is a well written story which is sweet, humorous, and with drama which all leads to a quick read. The only downside in my opinion only, is that I felt this story was too rushed. However, I look forward to reading more from this author.

Melanie is an intern at the dog shelter, and is tasked with getting the green space for a dog park rather than another strip mall. However, there's one big issue in her way, Councilman Adrian Chase, who is definitely too hot for his own good. It only gets more complicated when she's super attracted to him while he can't get her out of his head, especially with the war about to break out. They have that type of chemistry dreams are made of, but again those 4 legged babies need a park since they aren't interested in shopping. So, with that chemistry which won't be denied, and the opposite sides they find themselves on, can they somehow meet in the middle?! Hit those one click buttons to find out! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

There is no denying the chemistry between them and now they just need to decide if a compromise can be found or if their very different opinions is worth losing the relationship they could have together.

Political Prick by Magan Vernon a five-star read that will woof your heart. This was sublime, it was nice getting the arrogant main character and then finding out he really does have a heart, this is funny and sweet and just so well written. I love the setting of the story, you can picture yourself walking the streets, seeing the rusty gate, and smelling the lovely Italian food. I am a huge doggy fan, just like the author and I hope that many people will be intrigued by this story and check out their local shelters so that all dogs can get a chance at a forever home, now get to reading and enjoy the story as it really is so, so good.

Instant attraction...

This book was a short one in the Hero World Club. Melanie is an intern for Aubrey Bateman’s Animal Shelter. She is tasked with convincing the city council that the green space near the shelter should be used as a dog park. Adrian is the city councilman who stands in her way. Their attraction is instant. Their conflict resolution happened pretty darn quick. This was more novella than novel, but still a great escape into the romance world with a happy ending. I look forward to reading some of Ms. Vernon’s other books in the future.

sweet, fun story

Melanie's new internship is contingent upon her getting the new park approved. So far her only obstacle (aside from their zero budget) is in the form of the hottie Adrian Chase. But though he's a suit wearing hottie, he wants to put up a strip mall where the park should be. She can't possibly be attracted to the jerk, can she?!

Melanie and Adrian are sweet together. I love their snark that hid their attraction and liked that he wasn't that much of a jerk. I wanted a bit more descriptive heat and a bit more detail, but all in all, I liked this sweet, fun story.
