Absolutely nothing resolved. If it weren't for very good characters and story I would have given it a 2 star. For my personal enjoyment at least one thing should be accomplished. Sarah finds her friend. Russell makes it back to Boston; or at least his group finds help. Still considering if I will continue with this series. Always feels like I've been scammed when an author resorts to this.

Boylston and Copley are a two minute walk. Nobody that lives near Boylston drives a truck, drives to Copley, or owns a gun. Nobody. Green line trains have manual emergency door release. Every detail in this book is badly researched as the initial subway scene. single props just spinning up and taking off from Logan no delay, lol. I can get over the absurd prose - the sweet brown hooch that he doesn't taste. the man she kills unnecessarily that she repeatedly emphasises is homely. that's ok.then. But after establishing that she's ok with killing for basically being scared, she then doesn't kill a murderer. I give up, book is trash. I've read all the cmd/emp subgenre of apoc fiction, and this is the worst one.
all three books it is the same plot over and over and over not believable take the same ten pages and rewrite again and again. flat , flat flat count them 184 time "ethereal" he cannot think of another name for darkness. Juvenal story i made the mistake of buying all three books at the same time. A waste of time and money.

On the plus side, the read is well-edited and the story flows. On the negative side, the dual storyline lack any real progress yielding an unsatisfactory reader experience. I suspect the second book in the series will solve this problem. While I was able to read this via Kindle Unlimited, I probably would have shied away from purchasing the book.

How did this book get any good reviews? Didn't know it was from a series of 5 books. Book1 basically ends in the middle of the story with absolutely nothing resolved. It's obvious that the 5 books series is just one story. It's boring and unrealistic with strange wording especially if you are non-American. I will not finish the series.
