Kate Hewitt never disappoints in her plots and writing style. However, the workings of Child Protective Services described here do not ring true. I was a special needs teacher and school administrator for 30 years and removing a child from a parent doesn’t work this way.
Words can not say how wonderful this book is. It describes the battle we mothers have to go through with our children. Most mothers putting our everything into being a mother to the best of our abilities.

No one's life is perfect. Families struggle. It was painful to read how isolation from your family support even if it is by choice can lead to such pain. And yet the story was beautiful and compelling.
Special Needs children are challenging..It takes patience and understanding to deal with them...this book opened my eyes to dealing with a past that wasn't perfect so you are free to meet the challenge of that special child...
