This book starts to tie together a lot of loose ends. Lauren is becoming a very strong woman. The characters are continuing to develop and the relationships between them are beginning to solidify. However, some of the dialogue is a bit protracted and there needs to be more action. While I enjoyed it, I hope the next book ties everything together and ends the series. It should not be a soap opera.
There is no way I can write a review which will do this book or this series justice. It brings the scary reality of what our country is on the verge of right now, but at the same time offers a hope that there are the kind of people in our world that are portrayed in these pages. The kind of people that make the world a better place. It makes you want to be those people.

So I discovered the series about 12-18 months ago and now I just sit here waiting for the next book to come out. I finished book 7 within a week of it coming out. Yes, I am a slow reader. Needless to say though, I'm a fan. If you're into post-emp apocalypse stories, this one will catch you. Additionally, it's been fun to watch the author mature in his writing. Each book has gotten better than the last. So, now I sit here waiting for book 8! For C A Rudolph, don't hurry, take your time (seriously) and keep spinning this tale!

Grabbed this and read it immediately. I'm annoyed at myself for not being able to put it down. I read it in one go, finishing well past time for bed, and spent the next day trying to see through my eyelids to get some work done.
This was very enjoyable. Once again, I got invested in the characters, experiencing anxiety for them at points. Lauren is still a bad-ass. Learning more about Jade makes some things much clearer.
A really good continuation to the series. Seems like we are getting to a point where the end game is in sight. The next book will probably have me on edge the entire time. Well done.
This is a story of the continuing collapse of our nations structure and the people's response to it. The people are reacting.to the shortages with armed resistance. It remains to be seen how successful they will be.
As usual C.A. Rudolph does not disappoint! This book ran me through gambit of emotions. Shock, anger, tears, joy, it's all here. I can't wait for the next one!!!!!
