5.0 out of 5 starsA Must Read Cautionary Tale about Teens and Social Media
Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2018
Cory Alexander, high school counselor and author, has given us Followed: Who's Following You?, a cautionary tale about the perils of young people on social media. This suspenseful story blends in many important lessons about teenage relationships and choices that is a must read for teens, parent/guardians, educators, school mental health professionals, and caregivers. Each chapter concludes with pointed questions that lend themselves to meaningful discussion in school and home settings. Highly recommended!
This is such an amazing book! Such an easy, comfortable and stylish way to introduce the topic of "Having issues with social media" to teens. I currently teach 8th grade; and am using this in my book club. My female students have led some great conversations with issues they have dealt with themselves. This book teaches proactive ways to handle situations, but also shows how easily social media can influence you. As an educator it is difficult at times to speak upon "social media" issues. Even as a parent, this book can easily be used to have open discussions with your teens. The best part of this book is that if you go to the website you can download the printable worksheets that have follow up questions at the end of each chapter! My students love these pages; because it gives them a sense of freedom to comfortably write responses that they can share within the group. Students learn best when having the opportunity to reflect. I recommend this book to every educator and parent. I wish I had this book when I was a teen! It would have helped to navigate through social media issues. ~Mrs. Samantha Vieira (8th grade teacher)

A must have for every student. As a dad, I feel this is a mandatory read for all my children to heighten their awareness of social media and all of its potential consequences. My only regret is I can not give it more than five stars!

What a timely message in this day and age! As the parent of two pre-teens, this is a story which really hit home as my oldest child has been asking for a phone for several months. I will make this required reading not only for my kids but for my wife and those I deeply care about. Thank you the courage and insight to share this story as this impacts more people than we realize.

MUST HAVE!!! Every parent, teacher, life coach, mentor and anyone who works with young people needs to pick this up. It gives guidance on how to navigate social media in a healthy way, particularly in a day where one bad decision can cause irreparable damage to people's lives and well-being. Great and down to earth read with helpful reflection questions!!

As a parent of a teenager and faculty in the school system, this book is a must have! I purchased a copy for myself & my family members with teenagers. I am going to recommend this to all administrators in my school & hopefully it will become a part of the curriculum.
