2.0 out of 5 stars I really wanted to like this book

I really wanted to like this book. Just so many things annoyed me. Just about everything Julia experience's we have to read about it again at least twice as she retells it to others. I only need to read it once. Than there seems to be very little research, for instance, all blood work done in the ER the results are back less than an hour. Coda should have been at the hearing for requesting bail as Julia's lawyer, not hearing about it over the phone from someone else. I could go on and on about the many inconsistencies. As someone who has both personal and professional experiences in a lot of situations described, the author was way off the mark. Made the story seem very unrealistic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Yummy hot Twins 4.5 Star Review

This is book 2 in this series and you should read book 1, Shuttered Affections first. By the way, book 1 is currently free on Amazon.

We start right where we left off in book 1. Aiden and his twin brother Coda are taking Julia out to eat and it quickly becomes obvious that both men want more than food. Julia soon learns that these hot twins share more than the same birthdate. Aiden and Coda are so hot. I fell in love with Aiden in the SA and didn't think I could handle or even like Coda becoming involved, but I was wrong. They're perfect the three of them together. It just works. The chemistry among them sizzles and they are both so thoughtful and caring. They take into consideration the past Julia has and are so gentle and loving with her. Either would be a perfect boyfriend, so I can't imagine how Julia feels having them both.

Julia's crazy ex abusive boyfriend Rob is still after her. He's determined to get her and won't stop until he succeeds. Not to mention Vic, that nut guy she only went out with once. Then there's the student/professor issue, plus Aiden and Tanya's situation, so there are a number of bumps in their road to happiness.

I loved Ann, the twins mom and their sister Bri was great too. Sid Julia's best friend is a wonderful friend. Even the people Julia works with at the bar have her back and are good characters.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book. There are some very nice sexy scenes too, just an added bonus.

5.0 out of 5 stars DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND READ THIS SERIES!!!

I admit I started this series cause the 1st book was free, but 10 minutes later I couldn't put down the book! Julia & Aiden's immediate attraction to each other was like fireworks! The way he instantly wanted to take care of her with all that she had been through, made me fall in love with him. Then what happened at the very end...I'll admit did not see that coming (this is my 1st Rene Folsom book). I immediately bought this book & fell in love with Coda. I loved how the twins honestly cherished Julia & wanted to protect her from the evil stalker. The sexual parts of this book was so well written, eroticism at it's finest! I'm a big lover of when the main characters stay together & not fight each other until the end before they admit their feelings. No worries about that here, Aiden, Coda, & Julia were closer & happiest when all together & I was left with a warm, happy feeling at end of this book, even a little sad that it was over. Will definitely be reading more Rene Folsom books :)

5.0 out of 5 stars I wish there was more to this series!!

This is book 2 of 2 in the Cornerstone Series by Rene Folsom. I read this book almost straight through - it was hot! It picked up right where book 1 left off, with Julia being in the middle of 2 hot brothers. As a reader, I found my heart beating fast and I found myself wanting to be in her position. I wanted to be able to jump into the story line and literally take her place!

We see more of the stalker ex-boyfriend and you don't see the twists and turns coming. It's not too much though. Sometimes books take a good angle and just KILL IT. That did not happen here. Rene is an amazing author who knows how to give her readers what they want without taking a story line too far.

Rene also does a great job of developing the other than main characters. I loved the twin's mother and I found myself wishing i could meet her. I guess in this book I was really putting myself in Julia's shoes! I would have like to have seen a bit more interaction with Aiden's wife, but that did not affect my enjoyment of the book at all.

Definitely a great book and worth every penny and more!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Loving through the crazy

I read Shuttering Affections last night and had to buy this book immediately to see how it ended. This book definitely showed a true test of how much someone can go through and still come out feeling loved and adored by those they care about. There were times when I thought how much more can they go through. I absolutely loved this books and was glad the author didn't prolong the angst longer than needed. I loved the communication between them all.
I did not like the way I was left feeling things were not complete with Tanya. One spelling correction needed as it has two very different meanings: (Aiden's POV) in Julia's file it stated her brother is diseased when he is actually deceased :/ Read these heartwarming books that show how important communication and understanding are paramount for relationships to florish.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stone sandwich!

I am so glad I bought this series. I won't lie...it was the description of the second book that got me to get the first book, because I do not like to read anything out of order. So when it mentioned TWINS! I had to know how this was going to play out. Yowza! - that's all I have got for you. Well written scenes, and story line plot. I was a little shocked at some Julia's time with Rob...and her "I'm such a burden" litany, but then I have never had that sort of thing happen to me. And with her confidence beaten down as it was, I can only assume that is natural to feel/behave that way. Even with all the love and support around you.

Bravo Ms. Folsom and well done!

After reading the first in this series, it held my attention enough to want to read this one too. The characters were interesting and definitely hot each other. I kind of think after all the build up with her ex it kind of flopped on what happened to him afterwards and the whole role of Vic seemed pointless. But I really enjoyed the passion and love the three had for each other.

2.0 out of 5 stars While I enjoyed the first book

While I enjoyed the first book, I was very dissapointed with this one. I think the story with her ex totally flopped and took a backseat. And like any woman I do enjoy a good sex scene or 2 there was just way to much in there and dragged on, almost like the story was just about sex, sex and more sex. Some pages I just skipped because it was boring to read and nearly every sex scene was the same!

I really enjoyed the first book so thought this would continue to hold my attention. Yes, the mfm relationship was exciting but parts of the book were too unrealistic timewise and really left me quite disappointed. This didn't live up to the first book.
