I awoke at 3 ish this morning, when I opened my kindle and saw that this book was finally here. I started to read it, an before I realized that it was about 7 .15 a.m. and breakfast time, that only an hour and fourteen minutes were left in the book. Wow, the time went so quickly while I was lost in the book. I laughed a lot and she'd a few tears, but I was loving every single second. I just have one giant complaint on every book that I have ever read and loved is that the book was never long enough for my liking, they and this one was just that good that I didn't want it to end at all.
Reluctantly Alpha is the perfect title for Connor’s story. Connor Sutton has become a man from when we first met him in his sister’s story, More Than Love. On the outside I could see Connor was trying hard to made his sister and the Barrington’s proud of him. Now an actor and with more money that he thought he could ever have, he was still struggling not to lose himself.hen he met Angelina Kroll he knew the persona he was using was not going to win this woman over. He wanted to be himself and not go over the top – well not too much over the top. It is Connor after all. While reading the book, my fingers were crossed he didn’t mess up. I was on “Team Connor” rooting for Connor and telling Angelina to believe in her happily ever after. Life is never easy and neither is love and romance.Ruth has written a warm and funny romance that will have everyone who reads his story on “Team Connor” too.
Connor Sutton, one of Vivian's brothers whom we've in and NEVER GOODBYE. He'd never had a problem getting any woman he wanted. He never wanted to be rich but his life and hid family's change when his sister married Grant Barrington. He had to make many changes, now he was an actor yet he was still down to earth. A pizza and a cold beer was all he needed to be happy. Until he met Angelina Kroll.
Angelina Kroll was a single mother who was hardworking and independent. She didn't had time to date let alone had an affair with the sexy as sin broody, Conor Sutton. When without a warning she got fired, he came to her rescue.
As they grew closer, they realized that they loved what they've learned about each other. The way Connor was with Angelina's son was beautiful. It was a treat to catch up with some old characters and meet new ones. Love how the Barringtons, Bradford and Clay Landon had Connor's back.
RELUCTANTLY ALPHA is the eighth book in Ruth Cardello's BARRINGTON BILLIONAIRES series. It was fun, heartwarming and intriguing. Fabulous job by Ruth Cardello. Two thumbs up!
Let me start by saying that no matter what I say in this review, it won’t come close to describing how good this book is. I was torn between wanting to read it all in one sitting and wanting to stop and put it down so I wouldn’t finish it. I absolutely loved Connor as a character. He’s so funny and such a sweetheart. And you really felt for how he was struggling with how torn up he was about changing himself to fit what he thought other people wanted. Angelina was so perfect for him, she was someone you just wanted to see get a break in life and have things go well. And I loved loved LOVED having appearances by all of the Barringtons (and the extended family members) and seeing them play such a roll in this story. It’s always sad when you finish a book and don’t see those characters living on, so it was such a treat to see so many of them back in this book. This one is going to be re-read over and over, it’s on my list of all time favorites. I can’t wait for Dylan’s story!!
First I want to say I fell in love with Whitney. All Moms should have son like him. I just could not imagine Conner having a story when he was first introduced in his sister's story. But this was a really good story. He tried to be serious in the beginning but realized it was not him. I was glad when he gave up that idea. He and Angelina make a great couple. This was a very good story.
WOW! I think this is one of my favorite Ruth Cardello books yet!!! Connor and Angelina were meant to be, but Angelina wasn't impressed by her first impressions. Which was funny, because as an actor, he was truly playing a role the day he came to talk at her 13 year old son's school, where she also worked. I don’t want to spoil the book for you so I’ll just say should read this book for yourself! I promise you'll love it! I highly recommend this book! It's fantastic! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The nice thing about Ruth Cardello is that when you buy one of her books, there is no cliff hanger forcing you to buy another book. It was a fun read - and it is not always easy to make the stong male alpha NOT brilliant. Very lovable and a nice story line. Good, quick read - enjoyed the entire story line! Not to mention the entire series. Well done Ruth!
I love this series. Every couple have great plots with characters that are real. Well real if you know billionaires. They touch your heart. Connor's story is no exception. Now for Dylan, Bradford, and even if Sean still loves his deceased wife, I am sure there could be a second chance at love. Hint hint. You will live the book, but you will love the series.
I very much enjoy Ruth Cardello books and have several of the series on Kindle. I read a lot of crime/thrillers e.g. Karin Slaughter, Karen Rose, Peter James, Helen Fields. Stacy Green and whilst I love their books it can be depressing to read how some human beings can be so cruel. It is why I like to read Ruth Cardello books for a change as they make me smile and feel better by the end. We all need some cheerful reading in these difficult times. I thought this story of Connor & Angelina was particularly heartening and look forward to the story about Dylan coming next (according to her website).
Wow another brilliant read from Ruth. Wow love love love Connor and Angelina their are two amazing people who deserves good karma, I loved how Connor got into character lol he was hilarious and Angelina was a good sport when she found out about his character skills when they met. His easy going manner was what I loved about him and wasn’t to happy when Viviana wanted to tone down and change him and Dylan I loved they just like they were. Loved Whitney her son such a good boy. Can’t wait to read Dylan’s book.
Yes yes yes! An absolutely adorable hero, a strong heroine make this beautifully written and powerful story an absolute must. There was everything there with it’s humour, it’s great relationship and of course the Barringtons in their unique way of life. I thoroughly enjoyed every page and highly recommend it to all.
Ruth you managed to do it again. It is 7.05 and I haven’t been to sleep yet. Amazing book as always. Loving all the different family connections. But I loved Connor and Angelina. Hope Dylan is next. Thank you.
