Tanner lost everything he thought he was when he was trampled by a bull (Lucky Number Thirteen) that he was trying to ride. Summer is the nurse that he first sees when he wakes up in the hospital. They have a connection right from the start and Summer agrees to be his home health for the next eight weeks. She has not been on a second date for a long time. Tanner is set to stay with Ethan and Brynn but when Summer gets there on the first day and finds out that Tanner is staying in the basement she says that he needs to find somewhere else that he won't be doing stairs so they go looking for an apartment for him. Tanner's faith in God in fairly new but he tries really hard to rely on what God as in store for him and why He allowed him to get hurt at this time and in Three Rivers. When he is released to travel he goes back home to see his mom and brother and decides to sell his house and move to Three Rivers. When his brother and kids are in an accident he thinks that God is telling him he needs to stay in Colorado. Will his faith be enough to keep him and Summer together or will he think that God has other plans for him? Will Summer have enough faith that they can make it work or will she walk away and go back to just her one date rule?

Purely by chance my last book by Ms Isaacson had been "8 Seconds Ride", where Tanner, the main protagonist of this story palys a major role to bring another couple together. Tanner, who is a major player on the Rodeo Circuit has a severe accident at the beginning of the story and suddenly has to face life without Rodeos. What he had not counted on was that he would fall deeply in love with one of the nurses caring for him at the hospital, and that she is willing to take the risk to be with him - not knowing what his future will hold. I had received this story as a gift and it was a lovely clean story about a man trying to find his way after a life-changing accident, and a woman supporting him wholeheartedly.
Summer is a nurse in her hometown's hospital. Tanner is an award winning bull rider, traveling in rodeos. When Tanner rides the bull named Lucky Thirteen in Summer's town, he's thrown and trampled on. Tanner wakes up after surgery, looking into his beautiful nurse's face. Sparks begin to fly between them, but Summer's heart has been broken too many times. When she's assigned to be his home health PT nurse, Tanner couldn't be happier. He moves in with his friend's family for the eight weeks. Can Summer trust Tanner, open her heart again? What's Tanner supposed to do with his "new normal life"? Will he be able to ride bulls again? What did God have in mind as he orchestrated all this? I've loved all of Liz's books!
5.0 out of 5 starsLucky Number Thirteen is another great novel by Liz Isacson

Lucky Number Thirteen is another great novel by Liz Isacson. This is a tender love story of a bull rider named Tanner was was injured when he was thrown off the Bull, Lucky Number Thirteen. His Nurse in Recovery is Summer. It's a story of faith, trying to figure out God's plan for their lives, and honoring. God. As always, it is a wonderful western, clean, and very well written. This is not a long book, and can very easily be read in n evening. A MUST READ.
I always enjoy the stories from Three Rivers Ranch. Scary how even the text guessing knows the words that come after three lol. Tanner and Summer have something special together. When they confide in each other it takes the guessing game and angst out of the equation. Most would not think that lucky thirteen could actually be lucky, especially after Tanners rodeo days crashed and burned ~
Read 50% and had to quit. Very sophomoric, grown adults acting like H.S. teens drooling over each other. A clean read, but very little Spirtuality....other than going to church. Quite disappointed. I THINK Ireceived a FREE copy, or paid 99 cents. Was really looking for a good clean Western, but will keep looking

I love Liz Isaacson stories. They are well written with good character development. This story has to do with Tanner being still long enough to hear God's plan for his life. Tanner has drawn a bull named Lucky Number Thirteen and is thrown and trampled. He wakes in the hospital with beautiful nurse, Summer, taking care of him. Instant attraction. It takes him several months to heal. During the recuperation, they become closer. Will he be able to return to the rodeo? Will Summer and Tanner find true love? Why don't you read their story to find out.
I gave this book a 5 - star rating because it was well written and the perfect ending to the Three Rivers Ranch Romance series. Tanner and Summer meet after Tanner is injured while riding a bull in a rodeo that ends his career. Their romance grows as Tanner ' s relationship with God leads in his plans for a future with Summer. I have thoroughly enjoyed all ten books in this series and look forward to starting the Gold Valley series.
I received a free book in exchange for a honest review. I really liked Tanner's story. He has grown so much since we first met him. He gets hurt riding a bull called Lucky number thirteen and has to rethink his life style, because of the accident he meets Summer who is his nurse. The number thirteen seems to be the theme, even used at the end of the book. A Good ending to a good book. A lovely read with a sweet love story. I would recommend this series to everyone who loves a good clean short love stories.
