Another fantastic read by the most amazing author, Mink! Penelope and her mixing up of idioms, her opinions and viewpoints are hilarious. Benton's hidden obsession with her and her determination to get him to fall in love with her was so adorable, I just couldn't put it down. I loved Penelope's passion and Benton's machinations. It all blended together to create a recipe for a fantastic sexy romance. Cannot wait for more Mink books!
This is the 8th book I've read by MINK. In other words, all that is on offer by Amazon. Everytime, I end up laughing at the humor and feel happy when finished. This author brightens my day and has become a one click buy for me.
3.0 out of 5 starsLoved the hero; the heroine not so much

I tend to really enjoy most of this author's work, but this one fell short for me and it had everything to do with the heroine. The hero, Benton, was the type of manipulative, arrogant, obsessed hero that I adore (yes, I know I have issues) and I genuinely adore heroines that are slightly quirky and offbeat. The problem was that Penelope was not just offbeat, I honestly wondered whether there were developmental issues or a brain injury. She mixes up idioms constantly, wears a bright pink hat while breaking into a shelter so that she can free the kitties!!! (exclamations are her's), and doesn't have the sense to follow her lawyer's advice while at her hearing. She has the impulse control of a toddler and the self preservation of a newborn. The heroine was just too much and became a caricature instead of a character for me.
Benton, who schemed and plotted to get Penelope under his roof and dependent on him saved this book and brought this book up to 3 stars for me. The lengths he went to and the time he spent on his master plan delighted me.
I usually adore this author's books and I am sure that other will enjoy the heck out book as it was a light, bubbly read. It just wasn't for me. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
5.0 out of 5 starsa fun and quirky adventure that I loved from start to finish

Locking Her Down is a fun and quirky adventure that I loved from start to finish. Nothing is quite as exceptional and enthralling as a Mink story. She takes you on some wicked twists that leave you smiling so hard you think your face will never be the same again. I know I can never get enough of the sexy goodness that is the amazing world of Mink.
Penelope thought she knew her world so well, but she never counted on the resourcefulness of one man. She had her life all planned out, or at least her dad did. She didn't think she would ever have a say. Then, one day changed everything. She discovered that her heart didn't lead her astray on who it chose to love. In fact, it showed her that she had perfect taste if she only followed it's lead.
What a great pair Benton and Penelope make!! They are so perfect for each other. They balance the serious and the humor to perfection. Their love for each other is tremendous and breathtaking! It is so worth your time getting to know them and their interesting journey. This story will shake your heart awake and make your realize that loving someone else so completely is what we are created for.
Mink outdoes herself with each story, and this one is no exception. Her writing is delicious and devious, and it is utter magnificence come to life. I can't say enough good things about her, and you won't either once you indulge in this or any of her stories.
This was a pretty good story. Benton has been obsessed with one of his client’s daughters. He has secretly inserted himself into her life. I thought he was a little obsessive, he manipulated Penelope’s life a little much for my liking. He was a little too obsessed. I really liked Penelope. She was smart and quirky, she knew she was different and embraced it. I love how she wanted to save the kittens, I am 100% a cat person. I have eight cats lol! Penelope handled Benton’s obsession a little too well and she didn’t let her father push her around. I would have been at least a little ticked at all the manipulation going on. She knew who and what she wanted and wasn’t going to let her father stand in her way.
Safety and Spoilers Completely safe. No ow/om drama. H has been celibate for a long time and h is a virgin. No abuse.
I have to say, the heroine really killed this book for me. I'm all for quirky and "out there" heroines, however, Penelope really pushes the boundaries of what I would consider quirky and a little weird to being almost outright stupid. At first, Penelope really reminded me of myself. I am really book-smart, but when it comes to some common sense things, they just go right over my head. Penelope however, is nothing like and the way she was really actually annoyed me because she wasn't just misunderstood or seemed to have that common sense part of her brain inactive...she just came across as a ditzy naive girl. I mean let's be honest, if you don't have a black hat to wear when your breaking the law don't wear a bright pink one! Just go without! Beyond the heroine I actually liked Benton. He manipulated everything to go his way so that Penelope would finally have to call him in to save the day...yes, I know there's something wrong with me to like such an alpha male =)

Locking Her Down was a great story. The plot was written well. Benton and Penelope were great characters, I enjoyed their journey. From the moment they had met, they were drawn to each other. Benton was abiding time, waiting until it was time for Penelope to be his. He would have done anything for her. Their connection was strong and so wasn't their chemistry, it was sexy and sweet. They were made for each other. I enjoyed this story. Thank you, Mink. Great work :)
Penelope got into a little trouble breaking into an animal shelter to save kittens. Before the cops got her, she called Benton, her dad’s lawyer. And the man she’s been crushing on. Little does she know Benton has been manipulating things to finally bring Penelope to his side. Benton makes sure she gets house arrest - at his house. He moves her in along with the Terrible Trio, her shelter kittens. And everything blossoms from there. This book was really cute. I loved the animal shelter angle and that epilogue was great.
I loooved this book. It was a super speedy read for me as I read very quickly but very well rounded characters. I loved the transformation that you get to see Benton or “Benny” go through as seen through the eyes of the smart but still questionable Penelope. I enjoyed the tie in of her father, definitely tugged the heartstrings a little bit and redeemed the character. I highly recommend this as a lunchtime read!
Quirky but intelligent Penelope is no match for Benton... he’s always 3 steps ahead of everyone and will stop at nothing to get what he wants... his Penny..After a break in at a local kitty shelter goes wrong.. Penelope calls the one person she knows will save her... enter Benny...he has it all planned out and under control.. but the true question is .. who is playing who for the win?
