5.0 out of 5 stars Love this series!

I have fallen in love with this Windy Pines series and with Holly's stories in general. In the past few days, I have read all of the books connected with this series. I love the fun, somewhat quirky characters and can't wait to see what they are up to next.

Klarinda just wants to run her inn and enjoy a nice quiet life, but that's kind of hard to do when dead bodies always seem to turn up. Sound like a hoot? It definitely is!

Holly is a fairly new-to-me author but I have discovered that I really like her storytelling style. She has now been added to my must-read list of authors.

Pick up the Windy Pines series if you're looking for a delightful, fun mystery—you will not be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars In The Heart of Windy Pines

In The Heart Of Windy Pines was a good read. This is the second book that I have read by Holly Tierney-Bedord and I was very pleased. The characters from Windy Pines seemed established with well developed relationships with each other, while the guests seemed to become fast friends. I feel as if this aspect was key to the development of the story. While reading this story, I really felt that I was reading the manuscript for a tv show. This is a good thing in my book. The changing of scenes and locations flowed together seamlessly further impacting the feeling that I had. I believe that I will have to go back and ready the series that influenced this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cozy

I enjoy reading seasonal-themed books at the holidays, and this cozy mystery fit the bill very nicely. I had not read any of the previous books in the series, but enough background was provided on the characters that it seemed no problem. The writing and editing were both fine, and the story had some interesting and unexpected branches. The author seemed to have a great deal of compassion for her characters, and the whole story had the very faintest "holiday fairy tale" feel to it (sort of like those romantic made-for-TV movies that run all through the holiday season--just a touch cheesy, but satisfying!) I'd have given it five stars except for the behavior of one of the unpleasant characters, which seemed both over-the-top and inexplicably changeable. Nevertheless, this is a fine seasonal cozy mystery.

Clarinda thinks she may have finally met her match in Neil. So naturally he gets tangled in the latest murder investigation- and is not as divorced as he might have led her to believe

Hearts collide and accidents and deliberately less than nice people pop up too.

An exciting psychological thriller and adventure

The author has given us characters that pull us in. The employees of Mistletoe Inn are each unique as well as the actual guests. When a murder takes place, Klarinda, the innkeeper, begins to investigate.

Klarinda Snow owns a B&B in Idaho and is starting to question herself on the choice she made moving to this small town and running the B&B. The one guy she was interested in Todd Healy is seeing her night manager Josephine and although happy for Josephine she just feels there are no other men she is attracted to in this small town. With a snow storm coming the inn has filled up which is good for business, but has to get creative to find things to entertain her guests who can't get into town.

"Cozy" is exactly how this story made me feel every second I was reading it. The snowed-in ambience of the mountain inn, the motley crew of oddly compelling characters, the humor, the romance, the mystery ... it all combines to make the most wonderful read!!! I highly recommend this cozy winter mystery!

Just finished reading this book which is the first time I have read anything from this author, and would thoroughly recommend it. Great mix of characters and although I worked out who had done it, it did not matter.

Loved the story, characters and location; it was nicely written and amusing too. My only gripe is the time of year - carol singers, festive decorations etc. during the third week in November is a definite no-no for me.
