5.0 out of 5 stars Having His Back!!!

Stuart Reid was a Dark Fae and an Iron Master who had the ability to bend iron at his will. He was exiled by his own people because they feared him. He found a place to call home in Shiftertown outside of Las Vegas. He spent his time watching over the beautiful, brave and strong woman who'd awakened something unexpected inside him. And the cubs, she cared for.

Peigi, a bear shifter who was rescued from an evil shifter and was giving shelter and protection into the Las Vegas Shiftertown that was run by Eric Warden (MATE CLAIMED). Reid and the six orphaned cubs she looked after have been the balm her soul needed in order to heal. She felt a strong connection to the sexy as sin lonely man but it scared her as well cause she'd been hurt before.

When his people send him an urgent message, she knew in her guts that the man she'd come to know and developed feelings for was in grave danger. She was willing to do anything to keep him safe even if it meant losing her own life. Reid's needed help from the Red Wolf, Dimitri Kashnikov in order to help his people from the horrors of the high Fae.

Loved the bond between the cubs, Peigi and Stuart. They were FAMILY, no matter where they came from, they had each other's backs. Cain whom we've met previously was the one that reached out to Reid for help. Just as him and Peigi decided to give into what was growing between them, her past came back to haunt her. But Reid was her shield and vice versa.

They found themselves in Fearie with an unwanted companion, they had to stick together until they made it back into the real world. Meanwhile everyone was worried about them being MIA, Ben was the only who could travel into Faerie to find his new friends. Reid still had a decision to make and when he took it, Peigi was right there beside him.

They helped Cain, the enemies never imagined what was awaiting them when both sides worked together. The dokk alfar and the shifters were a force to be reckoned with. They were all still in danger but new alliances and friendships were made. They will be ready for when the high Fae strike again.

Peigi, Stuart and their cubs finally got their HEA.

It was great catching up with Graham McNeil (WILD WOLF), Dimitri & Jaycee (RED WOLF), Angus & Tamsin (MIDNIGHT WOLF), Dulan and Sean Morrissey and many others. Ooh I can't forget about that lovely haunted house of Jasmine's (WILD THINGS).

IRON MASTER is the twelfth book in Jennifer Ashley's SHIFTERS UNBOUND series. What an exhilarating, fun, adventurous and alluring ride. Magnificent job by Jennifer Ashley! 5++++

Finally! Two of my favorite characters come together in a story filled with love and adventure against the backdrop of hate and bigotry. Exiled Dark Fae Stuart Reid has lived and worked among the shifters for years now helping where he can while trying to find his way home. Peigi is a female bear shifter who was among the rescued abused shifters that found themselves in the Vegas Shiftertown. Peigi has taken in six orphaned shifter cubs and they’ve begun the journey to healing.
This is a story of two lonely people who find home in each others arms all while fighting off those who want them to do harm or want to harm them because they might do them harm. This book made me laugh, cry and sigh. A terrific addition to the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Magical Iron Master!

So crazy in love with Reid and Peigi's love story. It was even more amazing than my high expectations! I was worried that Peigi's tortured time (20 years) with her abusive and crazy "mate" Miguel would turn her into a pathetic and unlikable heroine. She was completely just the opposite! Peigi was now a free dominant, full of courage and love, as well as a fierce warrior who wouldn't hesitate to battle to protect her adopted cubs and the "dokk alfar" aka "Stuart", the dark Fae, her mate.

Reid totally blew me away with his power as an Iron Master when he was back in his land, the fairy land. I have never read anything as magical as when he battled and defeated the "hoch alfar" and their minion shifters! Wow! How Reid commanded iron alone earned Five Amazing Stars from me!

I also loved when favorite characters from previous books, like Tiger and others, showed up and lighted up various scenes. The cubs; like Noelle, Matt, Kyle, and others, were also worth five or more stars with their smartness and being so adorable. I loved everything about this world so much.

Iron Master is book twelve in the Shifters Unbound series by Jennifer Ashley.

I adore and love returning to the Shifters Unbound world. I was captured by book one and look forward to each new installment. If your thinking about picking up this series then I recommend reading in order. Theirs an overall ARC that is carried out and progress in each novel; besides getting a new couple with each new book.

Peigi and Stuart were a long time coming. If you’ve been following the series then you see these two in the background dancing around each other, but now it’s their time to find love.

These two where so awkward and clearly smitten with each other, but not sure how to take things to the next level. It was fun to see everyone in Shiftertowns say “about time”. The cubs, and where their a lot featured, where just so adorable and cute. I loved having them. They added to the story and you got to see how Stuart and Peigi each interacted with their adoptive cubs.

Many previous couples and characters were incorporated and someone from Dylan’s clan pops ups and you are wondering what is he doing in Faeire.

The unexpected adventure into Faeire was interesting and Ben, oh my, what we learn is shocking.

Iron Master was another wonderful adventure into the Shifters Unbound series.

I had high hopes for Reid. In the other stories, he was a creature of mystery. In this, there was no mystery. Both characters were boring. I skipped a lot through this one. To me, it was a huge let down. I think Jennifer has to much on her plate, she's losing her story telling spark. The romance was seriously lacking.

This was the most in depth of the books so far. So many things happening so it keeps your attention. I loved the Peigi character and her journey through all the bad things that happened to her. I would really like to know more about fairie and all the difference species that reside there.

5.0 out of 5 stars When Shifters and Fae Collide

I’d probably give this book 4.5 ⭐️ if I could.

This book deals with the relationship between Peigi, a bear shifter, and Stuart, a Dokk Alfar who was exiled from faerie over 50 years ago. Peigi had a rough start in this series and was rescued from a bad situation with an abusive mate. When she was rescued she decided to look after 6 orphaned cubs who came from the same community she’d been part of.

When Peigi was given a home 3 years ago she was taken under the wing of several strong alphas. She was taught how to stand up for herself, how to fight and how to protect those she loves. She learnt all this whilst finding her way back to happiness through the love and care of the cubs she was raising.

Stuart passes as human on Earth. He works for a private detective/security agency. He’s also moved in with Peigi and the cubs. It was a gradual thing and they are living platonically though both have feelings for the other. Neither has been brave enough to act on those feelings, until now.

It all starts when Stuart is pulled into faerie by a fellow Dokk
Alfar, Cian, who needs Stuart’s Iron Master skills, something he’s not used in 50 years, just as he and Piegi had decided to stop dancing around each other.

This book is spent mainly dealing with the fae as well as Peigi and Stuart’s ongoing relationship. There’s plenty of action and plot twists galore, there is wild shifter passion and wondrous fae magics and the sweet gentle love of a parent for a cub.

This is a great book in this series and I can’t wait to see what the author does next. I love that there is now a huge range of communities for the author to draw on to find the characters to write about next. You don’t get a chance to get bored with the same characters each time, because each book seems to change location, even as the plot of shifters versus the fae and fighting for freedom from the humans continue throughout the series.

Stuart Reid the exiled dark fae lost his home and all his family over fifty years ago. Now, with Peggi and her six adopted cubs he has another chance at being part of a family, the cubs look to him as a father figure and he spends nearly all his time in Peggi's spare bedroom. But there is a problem, he is hopelessly in love with Peggi and is afraid to act on his feelings Peggi was badly abused by her last mate and although she seems happy with Stuart's company and his help with the children that could change it Stuart wherever to act on his feelings. What Stuart doesn't see is that Peggi also has strong feelings for him and when a gateway opens between Georgetown and faerie Peggi has no intention of letting Stuart face danger alone. Peggi's cubs are adorable and the way Peggi gains in strength and grows emotionally in this book is lovely to see, a strong woman emerging from her last trauma.

Iron Master is a superb read - one of Jennifer Ashley's best (along with all the others in the Shifters Unbound series lol). Stuart and Peigi are so right together and through the book we see Peigi become the bear she was meant to be. There is a lot happening in this book and we catch up with many of the other characters including Dylan and Tiger. Graham is still shouting a lot and still as funny, his twin cubs are a hoot, and Eric still appears to be laid back. The fae are still evil and I hope Ben got his beer because he will need it for what he has to make. Here's hoping the next book will be here soon - please Jennifer!

All I hear is Etta James singing her song! At last!!
After waiting and waiting and waiting - Peigi and Stuart finally admit their feelings and get it together! After, years of tension and build up, after years of watching them live together and raise a family together - they flipping finally did it! This was a long time coming. And yes, there was an adventure and sentient house and the baby guardians came to the rescue - Ok, I’ll just leave that right there. Enjoy!
