This book inspired me.
I have a lot of hobbies and enjoy exploring my creativity in a lot of different ways--music, writing, sewing, needlepoint, painting, and just generally making things with my hands. The advice Tarah gives in this book is invaluable to me and applies to each of those categories. I can't stress enough how life-changing this book could be for anyone who reads it.
We're creative by nature--all humans are. And when we're too busy working and cleaning and raising kids to give that creativity any attention, we can feel a little smothered and depressed, and maybe we'll start wondering what the heck we're doing with our lives. Exploring the creativity we all have inside ourselves can make us feel alive again.
Tarah provides specific examples of different creative exercises we can do to unlock our potential for greatness. (You probably think I'm exaggerating by saying "potential for greatness," but I swear I'm not.) She wants anyone to be able to utilize these exercises, so she takes the time to show how they can apply to any creative interest you might have.
If you don't think this book applies to you because you don't think you're creative at all, please give it a shot anyway. Just pick something you wish you were good at and go for it. If you put your heart into it and utilize Tarah's advice, your life will change. You'll feel more fulfilled. You'll discover things you never knew you were good at. You'll be happier. Heck, if everyone was doing this, the world would certainly be a better place. Give it a try.

As an author, I was immensely curious as soon as I read the title of Creative Morning Magic. Any book that can help me feel more creative is a book I definitely want to read. After diving into the first section, I was immediately drawn to Tarah’s system. Refreshingly simple, the system is nevertheless powerful. Best of all, it really is approachable for anyone, whether you are a full-time creative, a part-timer, or someone who wants to invite more creativity into their lives after a long dry spell.
Tarah spends a lot of time breaking down the steps of the system and giving readers alternative versions to fit their busy lives, but of course I wanted to jump right in. In one word. Wow. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I tried her one-hour daily system for the first time, but what I felt was refreshed. My mind was calm, and I was ready to write. The ideas flowed better, and the words streamed from my consciousness onto the page. I’m going to make a true effort to stick with it.
If you are a writer, artist, musician, or any other creative type, this book is for you. With encouragement and down-to-earth charm, Tarah lays out a simple, doable morning routine designed to help readers fill up the creative well. A perfect compliment to The Miracle Morning, this book will help creative types feel more engaged, dig a little deeper, and, ultimately, find more joy in the creative process. If you want more art in your life, pick up this book and don’t put it down.
Full Disclosure: An advanced copy of Creative Morning Magic was provided to me by the author.
What a fascinating book on creativity that assists you in going deep into your mind to wake up your most productive imaginations. 'We must open a window and invite creativity.’ I really like this statement because it makes creativity less of an abstract idea and more of an individual, like a friend that is always there to invite in. This book has the value of being a good friend. Author Tarah Thornburg addresses meditation, relaxation, and breathing techniques in order to free the thinking mind and access the higher creative self. You will learn about introspection, creative output, and creative input. The act of creation itself is the goal. Why? Because, Thornburg says, ‘our true nature is creativity along with joy and inner peace.’ Having a creative practice (lots of suggestions, tips, and practical techniques) is key. And mornings are the essential time (‘harnessing the power of the subconscious mind’), hence the title Morning Magic. A method called ‘morning free write’ has long been a popular action for writers. Thornburg takes this method to another level with specifics that are thoroughly motivating. As for commitment to creativity, and establishing a ‘creative practice,’ you’ll find Thornburg’s path to be instructive, clear, and inspiring. I’ve read about ten creativity books on my shelf, so some of this was familiar territory. That said, I found the writing and substance refreshing as well as stimulating. I received this complimentary ebook for review purposes.
