This was terrible. Just don't. I'm not going to continue reading this series. It was an interesting premise in the beginning but this book really shows the author is outside her wheelhouse. She doesn't know how to weave a complex story. She can't figure out how to resolve the moral issues or the David and Goliath story in a believable way. C'mon!! Team WAR!!?? Monsters that throw up?? Let's make out sesh while riding an Elk right after she see's her brother crash in a helicopter??? And she's not looking for him???....Heroines who have heartburn??? Vampires who are broody??? So boring. Why did the author phone this in? Guess we will never know. Stop.the.insanity. NOW.
This book was so long it was an absolute trial to get to the end. The fight scenes were the worst. No one needs all that detail. I don't know if I can bear to go through it a 3rd time. I wish I could get a conclusion in a Cliff Note version, lol!

This od a vampire tale with a twist as humans are the corrupt ones and vampires are the balance in a world torn usunder. Lyra and Dorian are the pivotal characters who suffer being together physically as well as trying to navigate their way through this new relationship and stay alive in the process. The story seemed a bit slow at times but it picked up about half way through. Vampires are not the evil creatures of old and while I appreciate the new spin on vampires I will always be a fan of Bram Stokers Dracula. I like this author and it was refreshing to read a series with a different perspective.
I can't get enough of this series!!!! I'm so gripped by it and the characters that I couldn't put it down. I need more and can't wait to continue this journey with Lyra!

In the second of the Dark Light series, author Bella Forrest takes the human and vampire characters we met in the first book and takes us further in the tale. The humans working with the vampires during the trial period have chosen to go with the vampires into hiding in the canyons and desert of the SouthWest after they discover the deceit of the Occult Bureau in their secret genocidal plans for the vampires. While.in hiding, new creatures and monsters from the Immortal Plane appear through the tear between the dimensions. Conflict with the Bureau escalates and although the folks in seclusion with Lyra and Dorian lose some members ultimately the Bureau itself suffers badly too. One is interested in the characters human and supernatural and in the pageturning action that occurs. Ready for Volume 3.

After reading the first book in this series. Could not wAit for the second one again a really superb read at last the vampires got chance to put their case, the corrupt board were found out the horrible way they had been torturing the vampires, Dorian with the rest of the team put the bad guys in the public eye and the vampires have been helped to move to Scotland, this so exciting I can't wait for book three which I am about to start. I really do recommend this superb book.

Absolutely brilliant. If you enjoyed the first book you won't be disappointed in this one. It's even better. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. It brought out so many emotions. Who to trust, who will live. How will they all survive? The questions kept coming. This is a fantastic series. I cannot wait for the next book

I enjoyed the constant drama in this book, it was very exciting constantly being on the verge of a war and the main characters being on the run. I also like how humanity and morals are taken into question and holding corrupt organisations accountable. I’m intrigued to see where the story goes and if Lyra and Dorian can find a way to be together ❤️
I loved Darklight but Darkthirst was even more compelling.I could not put it down. I now need to see the outcome of the move to Scotland and find out whether Dorian and Lyra can finally manage to be a proper couple without it causing Lyra near death experiences !cannot wait to begin their next journey...
