I fell in love with Raimond in Anne Marie Andrus’ novel Monsters and Angels. The wait for Raimond to be released left me full of anxious anticipation, and unsurprisingly, Anne Marie did not disappoint.
A prequel to Monsters and Angels, Raimond follows the leading character on his dark and sometimes painful path to becoming Dr. Raimond Banitierre and finally settling in New Orleans.
Raimond is so much more than your typical vampire novel. It’s more than your average novel set in New Orleans, and in fact, parts of this great story are also in Paris and Savannah, Georgia.
Anne Marie’s works are always packed with gripping action. Raimond, maybe even more so.
She reveals just enough to leave a reader always wanting more, and in fact, I re-read Monsters and Angels after I finished this book because I was not quite ready to leave Raimond behind.
All in all, Raimond is an excellent read, and I’m, once again, waiting for Anne Marie to give us more.
