She who shall remain nameless
3.0 out of 5 starsSlow but still enjoyable

This was a very well written book. I very much liked both the hero and heroine. They were both essentially good people which is what I prefer to rakes, etc. I guess my only fault with this book is that nothing seemed to happen. While I certainly do not need pirates, spies, or kidnappings in my books, I usually prefer for SOMETHING to happen. That being said, this was still enjoyable and also a clean read.
5.0 out of 5 starsWonderful and engaging story! Another great Sally Britton book!

What makes a Sally Britton novel so special? Let me tell you.... Sally has a wonderful talent for creating a believable and enjoyable story with really likable characters. Her novel 'His Unexpected Heiress' is no exception. I loved every bit of this story - from beginning to end! Elaine and Adam are the perfect compliment to each other. Elaine has an incredibly kind and beautiful heart, but lacks confidence in her new situation. Adam has ulterior motives in the beginning, but learns to be the kind of person his uncle always knew he was capable of being, and helps Elaine learn to navigate and be successful in her new life. The soft and sweet romance that builds between them is wonderful and sigh-inducing. Little bits of past heartbreak revealed gives the story depth and meaning. I love several of the other characters in this book as well - especially Uncle Peter! Overall, the story flowed really well, with great details and situations. And of course - it had a great conclusion. I received an advance review copy. I highly recommend this book - and all others of this author. Worth every penny, and worth the time to read! I am adding this book to my 'will read again' list!
A wonderful story, with complex characters and an unusual-for-the-time situation. Pretty early on, you find yourself cheering for the heroine and hoping the hero can convince her that he has not only changed for the better, but has her best interest at heart.
I loved that the servants had a role in helping her become acceptable to the neighborhood. Very enjoyable book!
Narration: (4 stars)
Well-read, wonderful accent, cadence and expressions. Ms. Boyd had a few different 'voices' in her arsenal and has a deep enough voice that her men sound like men. I enjoy listening to her voice!

A precious young woman who supports herself as well as two orphans by working as a seamstress is surprised by a windfall one day. Beautiful story of love and lessons in humility. Highly recommend this book as well as this author.
Wonderful reminder that kindness can make all the difference in life.
Sweet story. Great, intelligent, strong, consistent, kind heroine who effects those around her in the best way. A hero who has forgotten how good life can be and been turned toward bitterness because of his family, and situation in life. I really enjoyed this story and hope to read the other stories in this series soon. I’d love to read more about secondary characters and their fates.

Sweet and clean Regency romance when a single seamstress supporting two wards displays a kindness to an old man, not knowing of his wealth and status. Leaving her his elegant estate upon his death, his nephew must tend to her questions/needs for a year if he is to inherit his share, much to the anger of several of his elitist family members. Dialogue and setting true to the era with a Christian moral to the story....predictable, but heartwarming conclusion.
5.0 out of 5 starsDelightful, clean romance - ebook and audiobook

An intriguing premise, a young seamstress inherits a large estate as a result of a single act of kindness. In order to receive his portion of the inheritance, the expected heir must help guide this perceived interloper to learn her duties. The H has a good heart in spite of a truly abominable family. Assisting the h helps the H rediscover the man his deceased uncle knows his nephew can be. A beautiful story celebrating love, hope, and kindness with enough comeuppance for the snobbish folks to be quite satisfying. The audiobook is a wonderful enhancement, and the narrator is excellent. Highly recommended.

The theme of this book may be a familiar one to those who read romance novels but it is Ms Britton’s delivery that makes this one so unique. I love the way she presents the situation, writes in depth characters, and describes the scenery that the reader can fully visualize. I particularly appreciate the even cadence with which she delivers the words so that the reader is delighted to read them. I have read many of Sally Britton’s books and fully intend to read them all. With out a doubt I can highly recommend this one.
