Elle, as expected, did not at all disappoint with this new one of hers. It was sweet and included lots of laughs. Veronica, having locked in all her life's goals, with her final being to make partner on the horizon now, wants to focus on her love life and future family. She has the love and support of her family and her ever loyal assistant-who's in cahoots with Veronica's mom to play matchmaker-in her corner, what could go wrong? Rachel, is four years out from being hurt in the worst way possible and as a result, has sworn off love. She has a thriving photography career and doesn't let anything with a woman get past her 'three date' rule and she's sticking to her guns. As Veronica endures date after date in Rachel's, cousin's bar, anything is bound to happen and it most certainly does. This was a fun and entertaining story of familial love, budding friendships and one woman's goal to find love amidst another's goal to dodge it at all costs. Get this book today, and thank me later. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to read it again.🤓
Once again Elle Spencer has taken me directly into the world of her characters. I loved the flirty banter between Veronica and Rachel. Got just a tad perturbed at Rachel at times because she was still so wounded from the past. I understood why but still wanted her to be able to put it in the past. V sure didn't need all those dates to be able to find what she wanted but the dates themselves were pretty hilarious! Bless Bea's heart for trying to help V. I loved the "seniors" from the bar. If we all could have people pulling for us like that the world would be a much better place. Story pacing was perfect, characters perfectly described, perfect love story. Thank you, Elle, for another fantastic book!

So if you read Elle Spencer's Road to Madison you'll love this. There are some reoccurring characters and I gotta say it was a nice touch. I recently discovered Elle Spencer this week and have bought all her books available on Kindle and have been reading them nonstop. I only got one more book to go and so far I've liked every single thing she's written. She's a talented writer and her characters are all so well developed. They are witty, smart and hilarious. Its Spencer's writing that really knows how to grip an audience and make you fall in love with her storylines. I know how corny some of these lesbian romance novels can be, I've read so many that I find myself rolling my eyes when I find the main characters conflict something unrealistically trivial and such a huge part of the storyline. One thing I gotta hand to Spencer is that she does not do trivial conflicts in her books and its GLORIOUS. Finally someone that knows how to create a realistic plot with realistic characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I passed over it several times because I didn't like the story line the title suggested. My wrong. I liked it even more than Casting Lacey. Elle Spencer develops likable characters with witty report and her writing is smooth, flowing. The copy proofing is excellent, thank God. Mistakes in the verbiage or plot drive me crazy and can ruin a book for me. I recall none here which means if there were any, they were few and far between. I absolutely recommend this book. For me the best sign of a good book is when I don't want the story to end. This is a great book for a follow up but no spoilers here. Read and enjoy.
I love Elle Spencer's books, and you're missing out if you don't read every one of them. She has a real gift for writing in a way that pulls you into her stories and you won't want to put her books down. I've only been able to pause long enough to look up, wide-eyed, and exclaim "Whoa!" before returning to it. (I also was tickled by the cameos from Madison and Ana from her previous book.)

Like every single book she has written, this one is fabulous. Slow, slow burn. Almost drives you crazy. But this author can write, entertain, sizzle, steam, humor. There are few les-fic authors out there that can consistently produce fabulous and and fun reads. She is one.

I enjoyed this book and both character's personalities. Unfortunately, it was obvious from the beginning what the ending was going to be. Then to have to read 200 pages to get to that point with a lot of gibberish in between. If you don't mind waiting for the climax a long time, this book is great.

Or more like a 10 - because that’s how good it is.
I fell in love with Veronica right from the start as she may be workaholic and slightly uptight, but she’s caring, lovable and understanding. Rachel, on the other hand, I wanted to bash over the head a couple of times if not for the fact that Veronica’s happiness in love lies in Rachel’s hands. All in all a very enjoyable journey and definitely recommend this to everyone who enjoys plenty of romance, an abundance of humour, and a sprinkling of angst on the way to a happily ever beginning.

One wants marriage, picket fences and a fulfilling career; the other has been hurt by love and wants to keep things simple.
Can they be more than just friends?
Veronica tries dating as she heads towards her self imposed deadline and finds herself on a string of bad dates, to the amusement of the bar woman she meets at the dating venue. A really lovely slow burn romance with poignant looks at pain, emotional vulnerability and growth.
Well worth your time - the dialogue feels natural, the characters unique and real. A great story.

Yep, I loved the too and fro of this book. The main characters are really likeable and as I progressed through the book my fondness for them only grew, along with the supporting cast. Would definitely read again.
I really like this author however I found this story was ok but it didn’t really grip me and take me along the journey like previous books. I loved the outline of the story, quite original, I didn’t mind the main protagonists but for me their journey and build up to their relationship just lacked a little. I’m used to feeling that hit to the stomach and the lurch of your heart when reading Elle’s creations but I just didn’t get that here. But it was still a nice, easy read.
