5.0 out of 5 starsForever Ventured - Forever Bluegrass

This was an amazing addition to the Forever Bluegrass series with Wyatt finding the love of his life, Camilla, a horse trainer who saved his horse farm from bankruptcy and got it out of debt by training Gent and making him a true winner. This was his destiny when Nanna Ruth left him the horse farm when she died. Wyatt veterinary practice was busy and their horses started winning races under Camilla's training and their new jockey Michaela, everything was falling in place just as his grandmother predicted. After a development at the racetrack that was threatening Wyatt's reputation Piper stepped in and worked her magic and got to the bottom of the threat to their horses from a new synthetic drug some horses were being killed by that was almost undetectable to the tracks testing. It was an elaborate money laundering scheme and Piper had to devise a test to detect the drug in the horse's blood stream before more horses were killed by this new drug named popular that they were mysteriously being given by unknown dividuals. As the town worked together to take down these people, Wyatt and Camilla were falling more in love everyday as they worked together. It was an exciting suspenseful story as they took down this syndicate and Gent won the Derby and Wyatt won Camilla's heart. It was a fantastic book in this incredible series. I cannot wait to read the next release.
Where to start? This is one of my favorite books so far in the Bluegrass/Forever series. Wyatt and Camila are absolutely perfect for each other!
The grief felt at the beginning of the book had me reaching for the tissues. That wasn't the only time that I was grabbing for something to wipe my eyes but the other times were in sheer joy and sentimentality.
Wyatt, Camila, and jockey Michaela all had something to prove to themselves and their families. Even though their struggles were similar, they were each uniquely different. By joining forces, they were able to overcome many obstacles and, even though they were competing against many outside forces and their own families, they came through stronger and more secure in the love of their respective families.
The descriptions of the horse races were so vivid that you could almost feel the groundshaking hoofbeats and see the dust flying from the horse's hooves! The mystery woven throughout the story was both intriguing and frightening. Sadly, another family felt the sting when the wrongdoers were exposed.
Kudos to Kathleen Brooks for another breath-taking love story from Keeneston. I can't wait for Jackson's story!

Did I read the same book as everyone else who rated this as 5 stars? I’ve never read any of Kathleen’s books before but based on the ratings, I decided to give one a go. After reading this one, which was a big struggle from chapter three onwards, I will certainly not do so again. Was it really necessary to introduce so many insignificant characters into the very weak story line? I can only describe this novel (mmmm???) as having been written by the equivalent of an untalented, amateurish 9th grader with delusional ambitions to be a professional writer and failing miserably. To anyone who has not read this, save yourself some time by skipping chapters 3 to 10 as they are simply ‘padding’. Alas, the story did not improve much thereafter and was so predictable. Very disappointing read, if I can call it that!
Where do i start!?! I was crying by the first paragraph then by page two i was laughing. This one took me through all the emotions and i LOVED IT!!! It is now in my favorite top 3 of this series. (Y’all know how i feel about Ahmed😂) This series just keeps getting better. If you havent read this series you are missing out on so much. Go buy Bluegrass State of Mind. I guarantee you will be hooked.
Wyatt is about to lose his beloved farm..he’s worked so hard years and his last hopes are pinned on getting Grandma Ruth’s baby ready for the races, but he needs a trainer. Poor Camila had to cross the pond to the US to find a rancher willing to give her a chance to prove her skills. She learned everything she know from her father and even he didn’t have faith in her abilities..maybe the handsome Wyatt will give her a chance. Together, maybe they’ll both get what they need and as a bonus..something more.
Kathleen has done it again. Wyatt and Camila are a perfect romantic couple. As the grandson of Beauford, Wyatt is a gentleman through and through, but watching he and Camilla build their relationship was the stuff romance novels were made for..we got a chance to see some babies being born..ushering in the next generation of Keenestonites...we got to see new romance bloom, welcome new family members into our Southern fold, and it wouldn’t be a Kathleen Brooks novel without some gun toting, face punching, and anything from our beloved Aniyah.
This book is a wonderful addition to out Keeneston family..you’ll laugh, cry, holler, and fall in love all over again.
It is almost starting to sound like "old news" when I say that Kathleen Brooks has done it again with another winner of a story, but telling the truth dictates it.
A story within a story is what you get. A story of talented women being held back in a male dominated field, proving themselves, a son shouldering the burden of continuing a legacy, and love smacking someone right between the eyes.... A perfect storm and an even better story of small towns, the large family, and a supportive community.
Wow! This review probably lacks the finesse of others, but it makes sense when you enter the small, yet mighty, town of Keenston, Kentucky, told by Kathleen Brooks. While all stories can stand alone, it is more enjoyable if read in succession. Start with Bluegrass state of mind and go from there. I guarantee you that you wish the little town really existed and that the characters were real. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will have too many book boyfriends to count. Highly recommended and if I could.... It would be 6 stars.
Done it again!!!! If I didn't have to put the book down for every day life I wouldn't have. Wyatt is just amazing and you can see he is very much like his grandad, and I live how you still get snips from grandma Ruth too.... Camila is a breath of fresh irish air and I luv how she goes for what she wants and even if she has to be a bit sneaky around her family to get her dream same goes for a brilliant new character Mike, as she is in a similar boat....
Just amazing written once again and a must for all.
Keeneston! Keeneston! Keeneston! We LOVE Keeneston because whilst they are all a little (okay a LOT) crazy, they are all family and family stick together! In this latest visit they need every bit of their power as a group to ride out the threats, they need to pool their resources to solve the puzzle and save the horses, the race and the day! Wyatt will sweep you off your feet from page one, he is a true gent, granted a busy and stressed gent, but still a gent. His first meeting with Cami is hilarious, she is firey and feisty...a true Irish lass. But Wyatt needs a trainer and Cami needs someone to give her the opportunity to be a trainer, Wyatt needs a jockey and Mike needs the chance to prove she is a good jockey. If they can all work together they will be unstoppable, will they support each other or will other peoples judgements tear them apart? In Cami Wyatt has found his other half but will she accept his lipstick kisses too! This was another amazing visit to Keeneston, it just passes too quickly!

Ill be honest I preordered this book! But I could start reading it. I wanted to read it I just didn't want Wyatts story to end!! I needed him to get a happy ending. Thank goodness Kathleen Brooks didn't disappoint. Amazing story, love the series, families, connections, history, everything about the series and this book. I laughed out loud, I sobbed real ugly tears for Nana Ruth, and cried again at the end. So did I enjoy this book, definately, would I recommend the book, tenfold. Should readers consider reading the series, with a doubt. Action, intrigue, love, romance, family, suspense and excellent writing - not to be missed.
I absolutely love Keenston and all the brilliant characters who live there. This is a gem of a book and really cheered up my day, any scene that Aniyah is in is hilarious. I have read all of the Keenston books from Bluegrass State of Mind to Forever Ventured and they all offer something different. Wyatt and Camilla were made for each other. I am really looking forward to Jackson 's book.
