I had this book in my TBR for a while and kept skirting around reading it. After seeing a recommendation in a reader's group, I took the plunge and dived in. All I can say is ... Holy Hotness!! Wow! I can't believe I waited so long to read this as it is now one of my favorite books.
The world building is spot on and the author does a really good job of making the reader understand the dynamics of the religious cult and their drive for power. The three main MC's are given enough background story so that you feel that you understand where each is coming from and the heat between them is explosive! My original hesitation in reading this was that it sounded like there was non-consent between the MC's. While, at first, it might seem that way, I can honestly say that before any action finally took place each character had felt a strong pull towards each other and when they ultimately come together it isn't entirely forced - although none of the three are particularly happy about the circumstances.
I would have liked to read a little more about how the three MC's ultimately build their lives together - the ending is a little rushed and tied up with a bow quickly - but it wasn't enough of a distraction to keep me from enjoying the rest of the book. Sometimes it's ok to just accept the HEA!
I seriously can not recommend this enough! I know that I will be rereading it again and again and I just picked up the second book in this series. Be warned! There are scorching male/male sexual scenes that will leave you fanning your device and reaching for a glass of ice! So good!
