I would dare to assume that the majority of Christians today currently attend churches where they are taught that the powerful moves of the Holy Spirit (Pentecost) had ceased when the last apostle died. We are referred to as "cessationists" by those blessed souls who don't not accept this doctrine at all. I call them "blessed" because for them, miracles are not considered aberrations but are real and common in today's world. God never closed up shop for healings, the gift of tongues, prophecy, and revelations. For those who would take off their doctrinal blinders and do some honest research on the subject, they will be rewarded with many fully documented stories where God has shown up and touched people in powerful ways.
Reading this book would be a great place to start. Our God is always at work!
