Love Lost and Found is a very entertaining military romantic suspense story. Authors Jean C. Joachim and Ben Tanner did a great job of bringing us two well-crafted characters, and a twisting plot with plenty of romance and suspense. Tara is on her way to St. Thomas after breaking up with her boyfriend, she meets Mick on the plane who was just dumped by his fiancée via a Dr. John letter. Mick is a Marine in Afghanistan and the military scenes were well written and believable, giving us a glimpse of military life and how it felt to be on the receiving end of a thoughtless break up letter. We're rooting for these two right off the bat. They wind up stranded on an island together where they fall in love. There's plenty of action in the story, as well as emotionally powerful love scenes to satisfy romance readers and suspense to keep you turning the pages.
The romance between Tara a reporter, and Mick a Marine is thoroughly engrossing. I love how they click. Coming from recent break ups they both were a bit gun shy. The vivid imagery and deep descriptions made an already wonderful romance even better. Everything about the hunky marine was sexy and I fell in love with him. Jean Joachim and Ben Tanner are definitely a great writing team. It is a well written, fast paced, fun romance with just the right amount of passion and suspense.
Wow! Tara and Mike what a love story, with some Sadness with trust issues(with Cheating ex's)even on the plane together joking on who's cheat story was better. What a great job on the Hospital chapters. You had me on the edge of my seat when Tara got kidnapped and Mike saving her even is when he needed to recover from his injuries. Great Job Ben and Jean. Looking for Book two in this seriers. :) Again Awesome!!
This book was a fantastic, can't put down book that will knock your socks off and then keep you coming back for more! There is hopefully going to be more books in this series with this writing team you can bet they'll all be as wonderful as this one was.
I am a super Jean Joachim fan and this is just another great read by this fantastic author. It had a lil bit of everything. Heart ache and heart break, suspense, revenge, deception, redemption, romance, hot nekid yum yum nights and the list goes on. The one down thing, it all happened so fast that it didn't seem completely logical or possible. But then, they do say there is a thing called love at first sight but wow....this was super fast!
Loved the characters. Mick is a sweetie and Tara can almost be a lil ditzy. After her "lets call it an incident" and she talked about Paul, I wanted to strangle her. How in the world could she even think about him after what he did to her. (You'll just have to read the story to find out what I am talking about" hehe.
We did have one issue that I don't think was really resolved or the storyline really completed which was with Mick's ex fiance. Since there is another book, maybe it is resolved there so who knows. I guess I'll just have to read the next one to find out....Oh darn. LOL Like that is really any heartache to do that. (I've already started it actually). Other than the ex issue, the story line was well written, the characters were entertaining and the descriptions to details were done nicely. A few things seemed far fetched and a lil too far out there but it still made for good reading.
Written as a multi pov. This is book 1 of the series but does end in a hea.
All in all, I really enjoyed it.
Would I recommend this book? Yes
Would I read more from this author? Yes (already started book 2)
I was not sure about this story when I first started reading it, however I was pleasantly surprised and really quite enjoyed it. The reality of "A Dear John" letter sets a certain emotion in place when it is used in a sentence. When used in reference to a military person it brings up a different set of thoughts also. Mostly how cold hearted or heartless a person would have to be to deliver one and how sad we would be for the recipient. A cheating spouse or fiance is another slap in the face delivered without a note but equally as shocking and life altering. Tara and Mick have both been disillusioned about the reality of love but seem to gravitate toward each other quickly. The instant attraction was there but it seemed to start off as a rebound encounter. Maybe it was love at first sight or just the fact that they were two people who needed each other to heal. Throw in a romantic tropical setting a sizzling attraction and love is in the air. This was not an easy romance to accomplish, there were several obstacles that needed to be overcome. The storyline was fast paced, easy to follow and filled with intrigue and drama. The characters were easy to like , you felt their hurt, anger, disappointment and sometimes just wanted to smack them. A great beginning to a new series that I look forward to reading more of in the future.
