5.0 out of 5 stars Death of a Bankster

If you like David Bishops thrillers, you'll love this one. Maddie Richards, Homicide Detective uses her connections and problem solving skills to track down the perpetrator of the Death of the Bankster. A bankster is a banker that is a gangster. Anyhow, someone killed one of these guys! (Should more be on the list?) But, is there an ulterior motive for the demise of this character. Has he been skimming a little off the top? Not only is he a Bankster, he's a womanizer that has no problem being unfaithful to his wife, who has always been faithful to him. Anyhow, the US Information Services, the FBI, CIA and the Phoenix Police Dept all coordinate their resources to figure out who the murderer is. Maddie has time to make sure her love life and family life are not secondary to her excellent police work. This is a very well written book and is very much worth your time..

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a good book. Hard to put down

Maddie Richards, Detective Sgt. of Phoenix Police homicide. Finds herself working a homicide with no body. On a deadline to find the body from her boss that happens at the last minute to keep the case open. Body found hidden in the county morgue making the coroner's office and the police look downright foolish the death of Sam Crawford was as his widow described, gunshot to the head. Now.....on to solve this weird whodunit. Maddie gets the shooter, who? for that you'll need to read the book. But who hired the shooter? The shooter doesn't know. It's a good book. Hard to put down. The "F" bomb pops up a bit more than I'd like but in the context of the plot I was able to overlook it. This book is a good read and worth the time to read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Convincing Story!

As an avid reader, I find Mr. Bishops book entertaining to say the least. He seems to have inside knowledge and I do mean "inside" about the workings of both the FBI and the CIA. As a reader, I do find misused words and some punctuation errors, but I find that in all Kindle books. I enjoyed this book immensely and I appreciate that there is not a lot of swearing. Maddie Richard is a first rate detective. Trying to find the killer of a bank employee, she uncovers much more than that. Along the way in her investigation comes Ryan Testler who works in covert operations, but is it CIA or is it FBI, I'll leave that to the reader's discretion. It ends abruptly and I tried to find the next book in the series, but I'm not sure if there is one. There is much meat for a continuing story. Solid characters and enough clues that there has to be a follow up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big Bucks In Transit...Follow the Money

If this read were to be described much like a recipe, the list of ingredients would include such items as money laundering, assassinations, and a list of characters featuring “stars” from the CIA, FBI, local cops and professional hit men. The money laundering is part of a financing scheme for a terrorist front organization, which is why so many agencies are involved. There are a number of warm human touches with some of the characters, although sometimes the dialog about promiscuous sex doesn’t always fit in with the flow...but it’s not so bad as to lessen the rating. The ending leaves a number of unfinished items just hanging, enticing the reader to continue following local homicide cop Maddie Richards.

5.0 out of 5 stars Maddie just gets better and better.

What a blast! Definitely not your run of the mill mystery or anything run of the mill.

Maddie is an interesting, real, complex character. She has a job that requires her unique set of skills (impersonating a hooker in her spare time) but also a loving family of her son and mother. Naturally there are problems with an ex husband, who thinks only of himself.

A really unique mystery with the murder seemingly having nothing to do with the main story.

Of course having Ryan Testler come into her life adds both pleasure and concern. He is as complex and devoted to justice as she is.

All of this and more make this an enjoyable, fast paced novel. This is the second Maddie Richards mystery and the second appearance of Ryan Testler (first time we met was in Bishop's "The Woman")
which is always a pleasing experience. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys a great read.
Great job David.

Mr. Bishop gives the reader a different type of murder mystery . We first meet a wife named Paige .who believes her husband Samuel ,an investment banker , is cheating on her She is on the verge of confronting him when he is killed by a gunshot while standing in their front doorstep .Just a typical murder , but wait where is the body ? Was there actual murder ? Detective Sargent Maddie Richards and her partner must first decide if there was a murder ? If so who did the killing ? And where is the body ? Once the body is discovered, many questions remain to be answered . Throw in a possible romantic interest and many possible suspects and you have an excellent mystery . I highly recommend this novel .

Second book of the series and if possible, liked this even better than the first, which I also gave a 5-star rating to.

The author hits all my 'like' buttons and misses all the dislike buttons. His lead detective is a single mother but manages both personal life and professional duties in a sensible, straightforward manner, no drinking binges, no angst. The police department and supporting characters are presented with normal personality conflicts but no huge political or personal animosity, no "detective against the world" scenarios.

Plot line in this book is interesting, touching on money laundering, terrorists and counter-terrorism tactics, perhaps a bit of a suspension of belief is necessary but it is handled with a smooth storyline that makes an entertaining read.

Just wish the author wrote more in this series faster.

I was completely captured by this books take on what could have been a standard murder mystery. Twists and turns a plenty, great characters, great dialogue and a riveting plot. I enjoyed every second of reading it and it is a truly unputdownable book. To explain more I would have to start revealing the intricate plot, which I am not going to do - buy it and read it yourself . If you are disappointed I apologise but I doubt you will be.

This is a great tale of two events colliding. Maddie Richards and Ryan Testler together form a fabulous duo. Without giving anything away they are looking at the same case for two very different reasons and their coming together is dynamite. Once again the twists and turns take you on a roller coaster ride and create a book I struggled to put down.

I have read every novel by David Bishop and cannot champion his work enough. I urge you to take a chance on David Bishop, I promise you that you will not be disappointed.

Could not read this book fast enough - so much intrigue it gripped me from the word so. Yet again David Bishop has pulled another excellent novel out of the hat. I was so tense towards the end that I couldn't move a muscle, had to get to the end. Well done David, another smashing, complex, all encompassing novel.

I started to reed & and could not put it down. The story is adding characters from other books seamlessly.
Expanding and interacting but still holds good if it is your first reed. Each page turned adds more to the characters personality and the story line is not predictable, great read and I want to know what comes next.

Exciting, intriguing and very enjoyable. This excellent story kept me gripped.

Will Maddie be able to solve the murder and what will happen between her and Ryan Tessler?

I will certainly be looking for more books from the pen of David Bishop.
